Uber lost $891 million for Q2 2018 and that's actually a massive improvement and the drivers aren't earning that much after expenses. Uber also takes a massive cut and other alternatives are not all that different. Here is an infograph that gives a good look at the market:

MOBI chat is encrypted and private. Nobody is peeking into your conversations and spy on your travels. They don't charge the partners any fees and they handle all marketing expenses. Due to the decentralized nature MOBI can claim barely any fees or commission and still be able to run effectively.

Those infographics sound very scary to be honest, regardless if it's 25% or 45% it's still a big cut considering that you still have to pay taxes on the remaining money. There are surely a lot of alternatives to many of the traditional services on the blockchain; they only need to get adopted by the masses which will hopefully happen one day.
Keep on hunting.
That's why I'm hoping this project or similar ones would succeed. If anybody hear that they could get 50% more money on their hands by switching services, then anybody is going to accept the offer.

Uber decentralizing their system, with cryptocurrency payments enabled the system will be easier to use.

WOW. A great find. I never knew such things exist but too bad its not available in my country yet.
Technically speaking, It's the drivers that's lacking, bot the service. When the drivers know that they can earn more with MOBI, they'll switch.
One sentence: "A disruptor to the existing model of Centralized Transport Network Systems". And one good thing, not all blockchain based projects provide anonymity. But this does.
This is pretty cool. They still run background checks so it's relatively safe and the option for businesses makes it easier to save parking spaces and help employees get to know each other. I think this one will go far.
Service broker platforms are hot since the last decade. It powers the prosumer. Some of them have success, some other less. Mobi is nothing new to what is available in the market. But, it will power the service from a blockchain. Not sure if this will solve problems compared to Uber, Lyft and others though. Yes, they claim no transaction fees. But with what money will Mobi then develop and maintain the application software? The play is probably: give out their own token, do an ICO, floating/selling part of the total available tokens, take that money into fiat, keep the rest of tokens themselves, hoping the token will still have some value after some time after the ICO.
I certainly hope Mobi will make it, but it'll be a long shot. The model will only work when enough users will use it, and the market is already taken by other companies and services.
The real moat is that drivers can earn more even with cheaper fares. The Executives at Uber etc. gets paid a massive lot. I think MOBI is going to make a take a more hands off approach (think FB vs STEEM) and take a small cut for a smaller team. Additionally I think Uber loosing millions each quarter is going to make them either go out of business or charge consumers more.
MOBI is basically making things more efficient and less costly to maintain instead of trying to do anything better. It's basically how Walmart killed local small businesses.
Although I like all sorts of services on blockchains, rolling out a service like Uber did, cost a lot of money. No service will be adopted by many, when no marketing money is spend. No service will be adopted by the mass, when volatile currencies are used. This service particularly requires mass adoption in a local area, since it shall bring the taxi's (professional and maybe even the private ones like UberPop that has been forbidden by government due to no control on quality of service and safety to passengers) and users together. That requires a critical mass for adoption, from both ends. Many people in crypto space seems to forget that a successful service/business, ie a service used by many, is not about the technology, but about all the rest that makes a business.
Those are all valid points and I do think MOBI or similar service can do well without Uber level effort. MOBI might not be the one to succeed but a service being powered by blockchainis enough to get those who are already hyped about blockchains to try the product. There is also the novelty factor. It won't be an easy victory. But I see great potential.
Still I think, individual riding is not on Mobi, and right now its offering community rides ( where you can ride with people or choose whom to ride with ). But this will potentially give Uber a tough challenge, in coming days.
For now they seems to be planning on being cheaper and networking friendly as they are putting emphasis on building connections with those you commute with.
