Built by an international team of researchers at the Italian Institute of Technology, the Centauro Project is one of the most amazing robots available.

A participant in the famous DARPA challenge, the disaster rescue robot is capable to save people and pull them out of rubble and everything.

Where the Centauro excels is in its 6 degree articulated legs which allow the robot to navigate most difficult terrains.

And, of course, prevents it from looking stupid like your average AT-AT does.

Additionally, the Centauro benefits a strong upper torso as well. Each arm has a payload capacity of 11kg/arm, a payload higher than the weight of each arm.

Perfect also for karate chops.

The Centauro is 1.5m tall and made of lightweight materials and 3D printed parts. With three computers in its body, the Centauro can operate for around 2.5 hours.

Cool robot, based on the idea of human body horse, as developer description info, this robot is designed to help after a disaster or help human rough work and control it through Augmented Reality technology, I think it's cool, the future is now.

The future is now, indeed.

It is observed that it has very good mobility, additionally it has very good load capacity in its arms and the design of this robot is different and special to others that are on the market.

great hunt

pros:-

  • robot made of lightweight material
  • operating time is high (about 2.5 hours)
    cons:-
  • none

best of luck

This robots looks weird and not really something I would like to have around. And particularly DARPA is creating some crazy stuff for the military. The Karate chops are funny but that's pretty much it. They will build war mahcines out of these things one day.

I’m not sure I care that much about its looks. I think for disaster response, especially in case of earthquake this bot may beat anything Boston Dynamics yet.

I would like to have that around in those situations. Its goal is also much less scary than a lot of what is currently being build for/by DARPA. Not long anymore now before bots (drone dogs) fully replace attack K-9 units on the field, especially in “don’t care about lethal impact” situations.

That reminds me of the latest Black Mirror episode with the endtime scenario where these dags roam the world and kill people. I am not paranoid when it comes to robots. I think they are awesome. But the problem is they are controlled by people and people are sadly not so awesome in many cases.

COOL HUNT

it is really fabulous and great step towards advancement . it seems true that in near future robots will replace humans on the earth .

Congratulations!
