A much better product after the first generation thermostat from Honeywell. It looks great, and the large display and buttons make it easy to operate. Thermostat control is achieved by moving the control wheel that rotates around the circular edge of the device.
The device works well with most heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) smart home technology. The installation is cakewalk thanks to its smartphone app, that guides you through each step of the installation process. Available for both Android and iOS. Connects to your phone over WiFi. Thanks to that, the device displays not only room temperature, but also local weather. The absence of a display can make changing the initial settings a tedious task. Location tracking of the phone to determine temp settings is a bit of a disappointment. Absence of Wi-Fi, and poor signal can confuse the app about the phone's location. The app can also experience syncing delays with the lyric device.
It works will most smart home systems. It learns quickly and can intelligently control home temperatures in 2 to 3 days.
For 189 dollars this is not a bad device, but does leave one asking for more.
