Hunter's comment

Bandicoot is a robotic system designed by Genrobotics to substitute the process of manual scavenging in India. Sewage scavenging, unblocking and cleaning expose manual workers to a lot of harmful organisms and toxic gases. Over the years, several lives have been lost due to manual scavenging.

Bandicoot has the capacity to fit-in to the manhole created for sewage cleaning and at the same time clear any impediment to the sewage system as well as properly positioning the pressurized jet for water jet cleaning.

Bandicoot can perform the work of five human beings within minutes, and it is available in automatic and semi-automatic modes. It never limits the job opportunities for sewer workers rather developing their mode of living. source

The robot is user friendly and can be operated remotely. It is dirt and water proof and can easily attach to vehicle for easy movement. Below is a video explaing more about the robot.

I also saw on the news recently that people died of gas poisoning while cleaning sewers. I like this robot because it can protect people from such accidents and do more than one person.

It's really sad that people have to do life-threatening jobs to keep body and soul together. Thank goodness for technology though. I really do hope this won't take their jobs away.

Uh oh. Robots are gonna start taking road worker jobs. Now things might actually get finished. Hopefully this works like it is suppose to. Thanks for the find.

If you read the hunt properly, you will know that it's not roadworks at all. it is sewer works and no, robots are not taking their jobs but saving their lives

Congratulations!

After watching the video i must say that it will work perfectly in most spaces in addition looks great for inspecting pipelines and other infrastructure. I think it will saves time and money and it also eliminate human risk. Awesome Hunt

The most important part is that people will no longer be dying from infection and toxic gas poisoning.

This work is not good for their health, still, they do for their family. Many people have died in the manhole. Hope this new system will help them.

The quest for survival would make humans do dangerous jobs. I am sure this robotic system would help them a lot.

I don't know how people work in the manhole. I would prefer to die better than working in a manhole. We are really thankful to them. I know this robot will take their job. But it's better than dying.

One cannot really blame people for trying to survive legitimately. According to the site, the robot is not really taking their jobs. That's is left for the employer to decide though

It gives more pleasure when I see robots helping humans in their daily tasks. This robot will surely ease many people who are associated to sewerage works.

while watching movies or docs on discovery I kinda wonder how the sewer cleaners survive cause that place is damn filthy and the smell always unpleasant from the reporter's look, but i guess with this some people will have a good life. :-)
nice hunt

Great Hunt

Hello @gentleshaid, I really appreciate your effort & This is really great innovation and I have seen people to cleaning and I can understand how hard it is to clean.
Here is my opinion-

Pros:

  • Automatic
  • No Risk of Man death
  • Reduces Man effort
  • Great Cleaning System

Cons:

  • None

Thanks for the review. Apart from the difficulty in cleaning, many have died from working in sewer lines.
