Googles Android is an open source mobile operating system running Linux under the hood. But Google uses some proprietary libraries and application. Even some applications like Signal messenger uses the proprietary Google Play services (GPS). Therefore the open source community came up with microG project which is an open source clone of GPS.
This is in the early stage of development and as all open source projects which shows an outstanding success at early stages, like steemit itself, this also has a huge impact and will become the future of Android apps.

Hi @bitbase, I believe this is a great project and it will certainly be even greater in the hands of extraordinary developers, and because it has open source, it will be easier for anyone to develop. Just a suggestion from me, if this is an open source project it will be even nice if you paste their github on the body post.
