Water leakage, if not detected on time, can cause a lot of loss both monetarily and also the source. Other than that if your pipes are made of iron, it can cause corrosion.
MIT researchers have developed these soft robots which can detect the leaks and can inform you before its too late.
An operator can use a robot launcher to insert the robot into a T-junction or fire hydrant, then may retract it via tether or recapture it at a downstream location. A cloud-based analytics platform provides the operator with a map of leaks, including leak size and repair recommendations.

Normally, in the event of a leak in a water pipe, we are not easily aware of the leaking location of the pipe. So we used to dig up the ground until we found a place where problems occurred.
Digging land is not a good solution in a costly and time-consuming way.
If we use this leak detector robot when there is a leak in the pipe, we will be able to pinpoint exactly which location of the pipe is the problem.
I think it is a necessary robot for a company that manages pipes.
Finding leaking in pipelines especially which are under the ground is going to be a very tedious task with many cost implications. Lighthouse And Daisy Robot being able to do it in an efficient manner is something very appealing and a useful Robot to have. Great hunt.
