I am Going to the STEEMFEST. You Should Know Why!
You should know why I got the ticket. If not, you definitely need to know why I have just booked the flight and bought the ticket to the STEEMFEST!
Why?
Well for sure because Steem is awesome and I almost got a free ticket from @firepower ...almost. Read the post
The Main Reason? Utopian.io!
As many of you know I built Utopian.io. Utopian is the only platform rewarding Open Source contributions and it's doing that with Steem. Anyone can use Utopian to share contributions to Open Source projects by adding ideas/feature requests, contributing to the development, creating graphics or spreading the word via social networks.
Do You Want to Contribute to Steem?
Sure you can, visit Utopian.io, login with your credentials, click on "+ Contribution" top right, search for Steem in the Github repository field, choose how you want to contribute and get rewarded. Maybe you have a great idea or you are a developer and want to make some enhancements or maybe you have the best new layout for Steemit or simply you are bringing new users in? Utopian is the place to be rewarded for your effort.
Open Source?
A project is Open Source when its codebase is public, accessible by everyone, editable by everyone.
- Steem, Steemit and all the ecosystem around it is Open Source. https://github.com/steemit

- WordPress is Open Source. https://github.com/WordPress

Well...there are SO MANY Open Source projects out there.
Open Source projects are usually hosted on Github.com and Utopian.io offers a way to link your contribution to the Github repository.
Utopian.io and STEEMFEST?
Now you may be wondering what Utopian.io has to do with the SteemFest..well unless @ned wants to say a word about it (WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED) I am going to be there to discuss with you about what Utopian is doing, how it can be improved and to join forces with all the wonderful people of the Steem community. I got the support of many Steemians, to name some @blockrush @fabien @transisto @ekitcho @french.fyde @codewithcheese @zeartul @antonchanning @gotgame @yabapmatt @mkt @jerrybanfield. I don't know how many of them I will meet there but they deserve my THANK YOU.
I am serious about Utopian and I really want to discuss the project with the Steem community, and make it grow.
I will also join the HACKATHON.

You read it right. When you create a new contribution on Utopian just choose the category "Social" and write about how you have brought new people in Steem, the tools you used and the numbers you made!|

I'm afraid we won't meet at steemfest... because I won't be there. My finances don't really allow that and I'm not that kind of companionable unbent person... (I hope this translation somehow describes what I mean... :D)
