SteemReports - Trending for Declined Payout Content
When people post or comment and decline payout, they are sacrificing potential earnings for what they hope will be increased visibility for their post or comment.
Like people who do a lot of flagging for the sake of improving the platform, people who vote for posts or comments with 'payout declined' are also giving up their voting power and losing out on curation rewards for the sake of improving the visibility of this content.
Because there is no easily discernible self-gain, these votes have a different character from normal votes, and thus may be of interest when looking for markers of authenticity.
Just as I wasn't sure what I'd find before making the Trending Comments page, I wasn't sure what this experiment would produce, but perhaps it is useful to see how people are using the 'decline payout' option.

That is very smart, I had this idea a few days ago:
No reward post could rank in the UI as 25% higher to compensate for no curation reward.
Your solution is better and should be implemented in condenser. (next to Promoted)
I definitely think there should be a button in the menu for trending/hot/new declined payout posts. I would envision it as being 2 dropdown menus side by side: 1 for the normal trending, new, hot and 1 for the declined payout trending, new and hot. I think in general Steemit needs an improvement in post navigation and curation for readers. Especially with the growing stockpile of whale content and useless content that keeps hitting the trending page because it has a lot of bot votes. I don't think bots are the issue, I think its a navigational issue.
Hopefully once Hivemind is ready for use, this stuff will become much easier to implement, and could usher in some really significant improvements to the Steemit UI, and other front-ends.
Nice work! Again!
I should have voted with more % but I sometimes forget post about new code are totally different than normal post. They are most of the time much more timeless than most posts.
a very good idea, thank you @steemreports.

I agree with that .. potential earning not just in post but the comment the biggest impact for earn . and i used that for maximum
