Prayer, the path to peace

in #steemchurch6 years ago

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7 (KJV)

It was the first century AD and the Early Church grew in the middle of the persecution, the Roman and religious authorities of the time seemed to give no respite to the little group that "upset the world", in the midst of lashes, lacerations, beheadings and other means of torture, the children of God had no rest. The book of the martyrs of Fox recounts with great detail the heartbreaking experiences suffered by Christians.

Pedro was one of those who suffered this strong persecution, the Jewish leaders did not take their eyes off him, he was imprisoned and scourged on several occasions ... "but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him". In the midst of the anguish the Apostolic Church grew and strengthened, all this because of the Holy Spirit, which led them to a fervent life of community prayer, the anguish that they could feel because of their persecutors was counteracted by gratitude that impelled them to follow the Lord. Having the Church this strong conviction is not to amaze the attitude of the Apostle Paul in the face of the tribulation "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God" and following this we find a beautiful promise "And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus"

It would be an unchanging joy if we lived this Word! If, in the face of despair, we did not resort to our own means but to the arms of our Almighty God, without doubt our thoughts would be clarified, our faces lit up and our soul would enter its beautiful repose, just where we recognize the moment of recourse to the Lord. that peace in Christ Jesus.

Hello dear Steemians! For me it is a pleasure to tell you a little about the history of Christianity, the roots of my faith, the principles of my convictions. As a student of theology I feel I have the duty to do so, so little by little I will bring a post of this kind, in order to let them know how they say a little bit more about "General Culture" but that applied to our lives will have repercussions eternal Many blessings!
