TEACHING MORAL VALUES
Hello dear feligrenses I am @windermarin since a while ago I had read a very important information with many meaning and good for people today, this post if you read it is a step in the right direction.
Teaching moral values.
Short Story:
During a school trip, some teenagers were accused of sexually assaulting a partner. They all studied at a prestigious private school in Canada.
Leonard Stern
After that incident Leonard Stern wrote in the Ottawa Citizen newspaper:
"Intelligence, studies or social class never prevent young people from doing bad things".
In his article, Stern added:
"The logical thing would be that, for parents, the most important thing would be to teach their children what is right and what is wrong. But in reality, it seems that many are more concerned that their children get good grades and get well-paid jobs. "
In fact, it is true that studies are important, but academic education, no matter how good it may be, can not help a person to fight against their bad desires or their bad inclinations depending on how they are. What kind of education can give us the moral guidance we need?
EDUCATION THAT DOES GIVE US A MORAL AND SPIRITUAL GUIDE.
Love is long-suffering, it is benign; love is not envious, love is not boastful, it is not puffed up;
he does not do anything wrong, he does not seek his own, he does not get irritated, he does not hold a grudge;
he does not enjoy injustice, but he enjoys the truth.
Everything suffers, everything believes, expects everything, supports everything.
Love never stops being; but the prophecies will end, and the tongues will cease, and the science will end.
For love, we are also willing to make many sacrifices and change our habits too. For example, a man whom we will call George was very eager to be with his newborn grandchild. The problem was that George smoked a lot, and his son-in-law did not want him to smoke near the baby. What did George do? Although he had smoked for almost fifty years, he quit smoking so he could be with his grandson. How much love can achieve!
There is a truth that we can not ignore and that is that the Bible helps us to cultivate many qualities, such as kindness, kindness and, above all, love.
THE KEY IDEA IS THAT THE BIBLE ACHIEVES WHAT ACADEMIC EDUCATION CAN NOT ACHIEVE: GIVING US A RELIABLE AND SECURE MORAL AND SPIRITUAL GUIDE.
