If God won’t; then No One Can - Forget Alternatives

“He answered, "If the LORD doesn't help you, what can I do? I have neither food from the threshing floor nor wine from the press to give you."" (2 Kings 6: 27, NLT).

Beloved of God, it gladdens my heart to be encouraged by the scripture above and I wish to share with you so it can also bless your heart. We find ourselves in a generation that professes that God can do everything they desire. Such persons scarcely remember the “will of God”. They are so obsessed with they need it doesn’t matter what inspired or prompted it. They are all out to get what they want all because they heard that “With God all things are possible”. I do not doubt that fact, because our God owns all and can make out of them whatever He wills. However, my emphasis here this morning is that we allow our desires and need s to be streamlined by God’s will.

Even Jesus Christ could not boycott this rule. He always sought for the will of the Father and so desired to do them. When he will make request, such will always be subjected to the Father’s will.

How about you? How many times do you supposedly get angry with God because you didn’t get what you wanted? How many days did you refuse to serve God’s household because you alleged that your prayers were not answered?

We need to come to the reality that sometime God deliberately allow so many things to happen so as build our faith in Him and as well learn that He (God) can sometimes permit the hurting to happen to His own, yet, it is all for their good.

Today, it seems difficult for this generation to actually experience the raw power of God in demonstration. This is because we seek to have our way in everything. With this, it becomes very difficult to live a life of faith because we seem to have discovered the alternatives.

One of my favourite teachers of the word, Pastor Idy James wrote:

To people of this generation, in everything there is always an alternative. That explains why People no longer hold on to their relationships or marriages because they already have an alternative: so once storms, issues or challenges of life come they simply switch to the alternatives or how do you explain Christians considering divorce or separation (selah)

In the midst of all of this I will like you to know that for you to walk with God you will need to realise that there is no alternative to God and to His word concerning any issue of your Life.

Beloved of God, if God cannot do it, then trying out any other solution is simply a show of faithlessness and a height of distrust in God. Take a keen look at eh response of that King in the verse we cited. He was bold to tell the woman amidst her complain, “If the LORD does not help you, where can I find help for you?”, Certainly nowhere!

It will be of immense blessing when we come to the reality that though we may see God grinding His mill slowly, the process will always turn out thorough and perfect. When we believe this, our lines will always fall for us in pleasant places.
