What does it mean to honor? It means first realizing the neighbor, And in the second place it means showing sincere appreciation and admiration. It means that we must be willing to show respect, to recognize the good results of others, to show genuine love.

It means being happy that we are made differently, that we have unique characteristics. We are different members of the same body, with different gifts, we rejoice for what others can do well. By rejoicing and expressing our joy for what others do well, we strengthen our neighbor in these positive characteristics.

And so the relationship with our neighbors becomes deeper, more pleasant and stronger. Honoring each other means observing how good others are in what they do and strengthening us in this. Observe and perceive, for example, how someone is growing in faith, how he is maturing spiritually and encouraging him to continue.

Watch where you see the fruit of the Holy Spirit grow in the lives of other people in the church.

But the fruit of the Spirit [the result of His presence within us] is love [unselfish concern for others], joy, [inner] peace, patience [not the ability to wait, but how we act while waiting], kindness, goodness, faithfulness.
Galatians 5:22

If you observe how your friends face the challenges of their lives more honestly, the challenges they face. If you can accept the criticism with more patience, without getting angry. If you can keep calm and joy in the Lord, even in times of tension and difficulty. Rejoice and express it!

Say: "I see how the Spirit of God is acting in you and I am happy!"

In this way we honor each other.

Also watch how the gifts and talents of your friends do good to other people. Do we notice situations where our friends are committed to others?

We observe how our friends advance in faith, trusting in the Lord. If you are obedient to God even when it is not easy. If you change or renounce certain things in your life to honor God, strengthen them in this and express it. This means honoring us. If we strengthen and encourage ourselves in what we are doing for the Lord, then the desire to do so will grow even more in us, committing ourselves even more to doing the will of God.
