¿What does it mean: born of water and the Spirit?

I want to invite you to read my blog and you find out about this powerful message of authority that we have as Christians and that sometimes we do not know why not go deep into the word

I invite you to read a "revelation" that Jesus uses through the figure of Nicodemus

Today I invite you to reflect on the book of John chapter 3 verse 5

"Jesus answered," Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he can not enter the kingdom of God. "

In chapter 3 of the book of John we find the story of a Jewish chief who came to Jesus at night to recognize his authority as God, because the story says Nicodemus: Rabbi we know that you came from God because nobody can you do these signs that you do if there is no God with him

Nicodemus recognized Jesus as lord of authority because we remember that this man was a teacher of the Jews a recognizer of the intelligent and religious law

We do not know the reasons why Nicodemus approached Jesus to recognize that power of the master but what can be understood is that this man had a need despite being a prominent man and I firmly believe that the need that, Nicodemus had was that he needed to know Jesus his kingdom and be born again

The question of Jesus does not surprise Nicodemus

Nicodemus knew perfectly well who Jesus was and although many have an opinion that Nicodemus did not understand what Jesus was saying to him, I rather believe that Nicodemus wanted this man to take him to internalize what he needed internally, since it is supposed that he had a emergency when for reasons we do not know reached Jesus at night

That is why in recognition of Nicodemus's acknowledgment to Jesus of "we know that you have come from God" Jesus answers him according to the need that was in him and says:
"... he who is not born of water and spirit is not can enter the kingdom of God "

Remember that Nicodemus was a teacher of the Jews and had a lot of earthly wisdom and although he did not know the government of the kingdom, if he knew who Jesus was, he knew that he came from God because of the signs he was doing because Nicodemus who knew the law and knew God he was religious to the church and he was a prominent man but he had a problem "I needed to be born again"

¿What is to be born again according to Jesus?

According to Jesus

Remember that in order to be saved, that is, to obtain salvation we only have to do two things: believe and confess

Romans 10.9 ratifies it- "if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is the Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead you will be saved"

So that from these two acceptances the man is saved, but I want you to pay attention to me in the level that Jesus wants to take to his people

When Jesus tells Nicodemus that he must be born of water, he is not referring to natural water, Jesus is talking about spiritual cleansing, water baptism, but not literally but through purification
Let us also remember that water symbolizes purity and Jesus used it infinitely many times to illustrate the cleansing of the soul, also at the time of the law water was used to purify

Reason why Jesus tells the Samaritan woman "if you knew the gift of God and who it is who says to you: give me to drink, you would ask Him ..." because the water that He was offering was a water that leapt for eternal life, the same one that at this moment is telling Nicodemus "you have to be born of water"

Born of the Spirit
It means that you must be guided by the Holy Spirit that in addition to obtaining salvation you must know the government of God in order to participate in it, through the new birth you have access to a new dimension and that dimension was what Nicodemus lacked, not He was born of water and the spirit, therefore he did not know the government of God on earth, as it happens today in many Christians

In being born again there is a key Revelation what was Jesus trying to explain to Nicodemus, when there is revelation you know what your identity is as a Christian, learn to trust because you do not see with the natural eyes but with the spiritual eyes

In the Bible we found a man of so many who could look at the government of God on earth, that man was the servant of Elisha who cowered when he looked at the caravan of the earthly army of his enemies and had Elisha to tell God to "open the spiritual eyes of his servant so he could see how many were with them "

Elisha's servant was able to look then with spiritual eyes got the key to the revelation of the new birth and could see how many were with him

Reflection

The new birth in "water and spirit" means experiencing a spiritual birth to enter the celestial world and acquire a new level in the spiritual order, when the Christian acquires this spiritual level rules in the kingdom of God and accesses the blessings that many Sometimes they are limited by ignorance of the potential that we have as Christians, assumes the revelation that Jesus introduced in Nicodemus to lead him to discover the kingdom of God that is nothing else than the government of God on earth

When we know the government of God on earth we know how we are going to face the enemy and what are the battles we have to fight, we live confident because we know that there is a celestial army that fights for us
So the "kingdom of God" here is not entering the kingdom of heaven to obtain eternal life, but to change levels because we know that to be saved we only have to believe and confess
