GOD IS HOLY AND THEREFORE WE MUST ALSO BE HOLY.

Beloved in Christ, our relationship with God and Christian fellowship should be seen like someone who has seen a vibrant association, and has loved to join that association because of how attractive and happy that association is.

Immediately the person joins that association, what is expected from the person by the association is to obey the rules laid down by the association, for example their meeting time and days, payment of their dues, their dressing code, their benefits for members in case a member is affected. Aside this the fellow must strive hard to be committed and loyal to the association.

After the association has spelt out all these rules to the fellow, if he/she thinks that because of one or two things he/she cannot be enrolled as a member of the association, then automatically he/she fails to be a member of the association. So it is compulsory for every member of the association to obey the rules of the association, unless the members of the association have permitted him/her to violate the rules because of one or two reasons. Perhaps, no one called the fellow to join the association, but he/she saw something unique on the association which attracted him/her.

Christian fellowship is also association, that anyone who joins must be committed and loyal to the laws binding this association. The law is that God is Holy and therefore all those who have accepted to follow him must be Holy. Christians are heading towards one goal, and that is to get the portion of the Kingdom of God.

1 JOHN 1:5-10(NIV)

"This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us."

This is what God expects from us to do away with all the things that will destroy our formation of association with God. However, if we say that we are among his fellowship and still in darkness, that is the things that make us unworthy for living, it makes God become a liar. Fornication, stealing, adultery, drunkard, drug addiction, smuggling, gossiping, cheating, greediness, abortion, hatred and aby other form of behaviours that leads us to dislikeness of God should not be permitted in our lives. If we have really joined the fellowship of God, then we should strive to resemble God in our attitudes.

As the church, we have our duties to honour by trying to obey the principles of God. The whole congregation form part of the association with sub-association like singing group, evangelism group, preaching group and others. All these group mentioned have their perculiar talents given to them. If any of these sub-associations fail to honour their obligation as an association, the entire church suffers, since the church will be lacking in that fiekd that failed to execute their duties, and therefore, the work of God is limitted. Christianity is individually, but with unity we build together.

We need the Holy Spirit to also guide us in all our activities, the devil can also blind fold us not to see the glory of God. He can mark us so that we will fail to see the light in God. We should let our prayers guide us always in order to be Holy. We should also learn our Bible always, that is also one ways of building our Spituality with God.
