BE A PRISONER FOR CHRIST::::::PAUL AS OUR EXAMPLE.

Being a prisoner in this context doesn't mean that you have been committed a crime and being confined in a room as your punishment. But, we mean you rather have to keep, live, devote or confined yourself for Christ and His work.

A prisoner is not of himself, but he is always under authority or law that always rules him. What he is suppose to do and what he is not suppose to do. Always, his ways are directed by higher authority. He always consider himself as working under his Master.

In the book of Acts 16:16:40, Paul, Silas and other members were kept in prison, because they confined themselves for Christ and his work. They held their faith with Christ Jesus very strongly, so when the people of Romans saw that they were using the powers from Jesus Christ to deliver many people from their afflictions they have to imprison them for God's work to subside. At the end, Christ was victorious, since Paul and Silas were able to escape from prison through the intervention of Jesus Christ.

After Paul has been able to escape from prison, his Christian faith in Christ Jesus even became stronger than before, so Christianity was growing and expanding from country to country. Christianity then became predominant with a lot of people through Paul, who have converted to follow Christ Jesus.

Paul who was known to oppose the work of Christ. Through Jesus the mighty hands of Jesus Christ, he was delivered from the captivity of the devil who by then drove him to do what was not expected to be done. Since he was blind in the camp of the devil, now that blindness has been unveiled and he now see clearly.

So, any time Paul stands in the midst of his colleaque, this becomes a testimony for him, that beloved lets hold the work of God strongly and put Christ first in our lives, for our suffering will never be in vain. Many witnesses and encouragement which through Paul were to many people about being a prisoner for Christ, since he cannot repay back what Christ has done for him.

"Accordingly, though I am bold enough in Christ to command you to do what is required, yet for love's sake I prefer to appeal to you-I, Paul, an old prisoner also for Christ Jesus. I appeal to you for my old child, Onesimus, whose father I became in my imprisonment.(Philemon 1:8-10)
I would have been glad to keep him with me, in order that he might serve me on your behalf during my imprisonment for the gospel."(Philemon 1:13)

As Christians, we have a call to render service to our Lord Jesus Christ every minute, hour or day. Though we have our liberty to do whatever that we like, but not all things that are deserved of us. Being a prisoner to Jesus Christ and the gospel is a sacrificial work, that is to say confiding or keeping your self for whatever is expected from us Christians, so that Christ Jesus will not find any spotted of sin in our lives. Being a prisoner is also passing through suffering and pains to do the work of God. At times you will be harassed or molested by people who have not yet comprehended Christianity, but do not be discouraged, just exercise patience and hold unto your faith in Christ.

Lets all take this prison course serious as Parishioners, in order for Christ to recognise us in His book of records, and to also enjoy better times when we exhaust our living on this planet of earth. Thank you for listening to this message.
