In Luke 19 : 41-44 ,The scene is familiar to Bible readers.It is one of the few days when Jesus seemed to be triumphant ,yet we see Him beholding the city and weeping.

In Ecclesiastes 3:4 ,the Bible also talks about the time to weep.Jesus wept ,is the shortest verse in the Bible.He was at the grave of Lazarus , His friend.Jesus weeps with us when any sorrow comes.

We are admonished to weep with those who weep.Deep compassion ,like our Lord ,is one of the needs of our day.Had you thought of this ?We do weep easier than rejoice .let a member suffer and we suffer.But let a member be successful and rejoice - do we rejoice ?Do we?

Many things to rejoice over ,but there comes a time to weep ,to show deep compassion.

We are discussing three sub-topics.Namely:

• Jeremiah is called the "weeping prophet"
• Should we weep over backslidden churches and children of God?
• Backslider is in bad shape.

Jeremiah is called the "weeping prophet"

His desire was for his head to be full of water and his eyes be a fountain of tears, Jeremiah 9:1a.
Why? Because of the slain of the daughters of Isreal.
God had permitted judgement to come because of their idolatry.

Should we weep over backslidden churches and children of God?

Churches and preachers , pastors -turning from the word and turning excitement and entertainment.Pray for church members who never attends church -are they blackslidden or unsaved?
There is a way you can tell.If they live in sin without the chastisement of God.Without God spanking them,they are unsaved.

Backslider is in bad shape.

The backslider is miserable ,unhappy and unuseful in His service.Let us weep over them..

Somewhere in that weeping ,let us weep for ourselves ,Luke 23:28-31

"Daughters of Jersualem ,weep for yourselves."Interesting note : No woman is mentioned as speaking against our Lord in His life ,or having a share in His death.
**On the contrary **He was anointed by a woman for His burial ,woman were first and last at His grave.He first appeared to a woman after His resurrection ,women ministered to His needs ,women bewailed and lamented Him ,a heathen woman interceded for His life with her husband ,pilate.
Yet ,there is no account of any woman of Jersualem that believed!

"Weep for yourselves and children"
How we need mothers to weep over the lost condition of their children.Sad that too many mothers wait too late to weep and pray.
