Luk 13:16 And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?

WHAT WAS THE RESULT OF THIS DEMONIC INFLUENCE IN HER LIFE?

She was crippled

Luk 13:10 And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath.
Luk 13:11 And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself.
Luk 13:12 And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity.
Luk 13:13 And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.

I think it is noteworthy that the writer here is Luke. Luke was a medical doctor or a Physician. This is a narration of the actions of the Great Physician, Jesus Christ. Both attribute the crippling infirmity to be caused by the demonic.

Vs 11 she had a spirit of infirmity
Vs 11 because of this spirit, she was bowed down to the ground and could not stand upright.
Vs 12 Jesus loosed her from her bondage
Vs 13 immediately when the demonic was severed, she was immediately made straight and praised God.
Our text vs 16 Jesus said her sickness was attributed to demonic or satanic influence.

Today we are to upscale to believe in demons

I read through the 4 Gospels one time to determine how many times a physical ailment was caused by the demonic and which writer attributed sickness to the demonic above the other others

Luke, the Medical Doctor is the writer who connects demons to many sicknesses. This is significant!

Imagine going to a medical doctor today. If we were to imagine this poor crippled lady that Jesus healed in the office of a doctor. The doctor would prescribe medications, possibly a series of operations. The Doctor May tell her there is no hope and she will be like this all her life. She may suffer from many procedures

Sadly, this is played out every day! We are too educated, wise in our own eyes and refined to believe in demons or the demonic.

Even more sad is God’s people have also quit believing in the demonic and many pass by us and are not healed because we don’t count that our wrestling is not against flesh and blood Eph 6. We have a hidden enemy! The church must learn to deal with him!

On the flip side, there are those who go too far with this idea and lose balance. Some are looking for demons everywhere. If we get a flat tire it is because of demons! This is silly! I ran over a nail in the driveway, no demon involved

I am not on the look for demons. I am on the look always for Jesus! But when a demon does show, we need to be ready ri identify it and relieve the suffering of our fellow man, by casting it out.

PRIDE

Today you may be sick or have an infirmity that has been with you all of your life. Or something you contracted later in life. Many mental illinesses and many physical ailments are because of the demonic. I am not saying you are demon possessed! Sometimes this is the case and many times not. Jesus described the demon that cause this lady to bow down as a “spirit of infirmity”. Many that suffer this way would never consider it may be a demonic problem, PRIDE!

This is a difficult subject for many! Not all sicknesses are caused by the demonic, but all sickness and disease is a result of the fall of mankind and the fallen world we live in.

The Good News is that either way, Jesus is the Answer to what ever is the cause of your sickness.

Act 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

“Healijg those Oppressed by the devil.”

In one of our bible studies in Virginia, USA, a new young woman from Taiwan came for the first time. There was prayer, worship and bible study on the agenda. During the worship, this seemingly normal woman, started to crawl on the floor and began to growl and to speak with many different voices. Most sounding like men! Her countenance changed and especially her eyes became different, for lack of better words to describe them.
She was in her mid twenties, perhaps 27 years old. As we met her, when she was introduced to us, she seemed normal. Pretty, polite and we did not know, demon possessed!
So now she is on the floor of my friend’s living room and acting like an animal that is out of control. We began to rebuke these demons! There was more than one! What an amazing time!
She got completely delivered that night and gave her life to Jesus. Hallelujah!

This woman had been suffering from women’s type bleeding for over 13 years.

We did not know until she testified at a later day, but she had been bleeding every day for over 13 years. Doctors could do nothing for her and she had been through a lot of suffering because they were trying to cure what was demonic with medicine and procedures.

But the day she was delivered from the demonic, this bleeding stopped and never returned except for her normal menstrual cycle.

Jesus is a full service Healer

I could recount many more true experiences where God healed someone and the cause was definitely demonic.

My hope in writing this series is that whatever the cause of your infirmity, you would reach out to Jesus and be made whole. In my prayer time, I tell every entity that is in my life or home that is not of God. I reject you out of my life and home. I serve you an eviction notice in the Name of Jesus. This is not an every day prayer. But sometimes I sense the need to reject and eject the enemy from my home

As believers we have authority

Luk 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Luk 10:20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
