Micah 5:1 – “Mobilize! Marshal your troops! The enemy is laying siege to Jerusalem. With a rod they will strike the leader of Israel in the face.”

Isaiah 50:6 – “I give My back to those who beat Me and My cheeks to those who pull out My beard. I do not hide from shame, for they mock Me and spit in My face.”

As I do this study, I am amazed at the accuracy of the Prophetic Scriptures of the coming Messiah. The Bible speaks of a veil that covers the spiritual eyes while the law or the writings of Moses is read. How a people could be looking intently for the coming Messiah and He is walking down their streets and they did not recognize Him. They missed the day of their visitation. They just could not wrap their theology around this suffering servant. They were looking for a King that would come in power.

I wonder how much of what we believe today is also missing this day that we are in. Are we people who hear what the Spirit is saying to the Church? Are we missing what is important about our time and what we should be doing at this point? Does our theology blind us from the truth?

Luk 19:41 And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it,
Luk 19:42 Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.
Luk 19:43 For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side,
Luk 19:44 And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.

Luk 22:64 And when they had blindfolded him, they struck him on the face, and asked him, saying, Prophesy, who is it that smote thee?
Luk 22:65 And many other things blasphemously spake they against him.

Mat 27:30 And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote him on the head.

Mar 15:19 And they smote him on the head with a reed, and did spit upon him, and bowing their knees worshipped him.

In the the stripes and the cross, until Jesus said, “It is Finished” the price has been paid for our sins. Healing for our whole being was obtained. These things are appropriated by faith. “For all who call upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved”
