Exo 12:5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it from the sheep, or from the goats:
All of the sacrifices instituted by Moses or the Law, were pointers to the cost and shedding of blood that would be necessary for the Messiah. Everything in the Old Testament pointed to the Cross of Golgotha (Calvary). Without the shedding of blood there can be no remission of sin. It is not pretty! It is in many ways disgusting to those of us who went to the store to buy meat. But this ugly process is what Jesus had to endure to bring us eternal life. It was a huge price He paid! The movies we see of the crucifixion are not anywhere accurate concerning the pain and gruesome sight it really was. Whatever we have seen in the movies, guaranteed, it was worse. Most would not be able to watch.
Isa 53:3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

1Pe 1:18 knowing that ye were redeemed, not with corruptible things, with silver or gold, from your vain manner of life handed down from your fathers;
1Pe 1:19 but with precious blood, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot, even the blood of Christ:
1Pe 1:20 who was foreknown indeed before the foundation of the world, but was manifested at the end of the times for your sake,
1Pe 1:21 who through him are believers in God, which raised him from the dead, and gave him glory; so that your faith and hope might be in God.
Behold the Lamb
Joh 1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
Jesus never sinned. He never transgressed the Law. He was in perfect fellowship with the Heavenly Father from start to finish. His sinlessness made Him qualify as the Lamb without sport or blemish.
Heb 10:4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
Heb 10:5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:
Heb 10:6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.
Heb 10:7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
Heb 10:8 Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;
Heb 10:9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.
Heb 10:10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
