What is the true definition of a Cult?
cult 'kəlt\ n, often attrib, [F & L; F culte, fr. L cultus care, adoration, fr. colere to cultivate — more at wheel] (1617)1 : formal religious veneration : worship2 : a system of religious beliefs and ritual ; also: its body of adherents cult n1 syn: religion 1, creed, faith, persuasion2 syn: religion 2, church, communion, connection, creed, denomination, faith, persuasion, sect. Modern day media have corrupted the meaning of the word 'Cult'.
Modern day Cults follow a pattern:
- They look for weak-minded people.
- They tell followers to ignore family and friends.
- They refuse to offer proof of their claims.
- They tell followers "Don't question, have blind faith".
- They tell followers to stop watching news and stop researching.
- They isolate their followers from their loved ones.
Flock of Lord RayEl:
- REJECT weak-minded people.
- INSIST that followers fully inform and discuss with family, friends, and strangers of what they learn.
- ALWAYS provide verifiable proof of our claims.
- DEMAND that people verify our claims so that their faith is not "blind", but instead based on facts.
- REQUIRE followers to stay fully informed of world events as they unfold.
- And we ALWAYS tell people going to Baja or Israel "Stay in contact with your loved ones online/phone/video, or invite them to visit and/or stay with you".
Have a Blessed Day

According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary the term "cult" can also mean the following:
So technically, anyone on a baseball team, or a reading club, or a fanbase for an actor, etc, are all labeled as being apart of a "cult". I think the term has gained a lot of negative attention due to very specific instances of dangerous groups that lead to very harmful and deadly outcomes. The term has been tainted, and therefore people just assume a bad thing when it comes to that term, where in most cases it's a gathering of people for a specific idea or subject.
This is good to know!

I think the term for cult has been warped over the years.
