THE GLORIOUS LIGHT OF THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST
When We Walk In The Light, We Fellowship With One Another.
1 John 1:7 says "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin." The goal of the gospel of Jesus Christ isn't to help you get and maintain a job, it isn't to get you a spouse, a brand new all expense paid home, it certainly isn't to help you obtain a visa and settle down abroad. The gospel is much more. It is the life, nature, character and authority of the Son of God manifested to the full in New Born. Seems far-fetched, absolutely NOT!
The difference between where you are today in Christ and the next and higher level of glory is a question of discovery and apprehension, through the Word. It is a discovery and an
apprehesion of who you are in Christ. When you take another look at our theme scripture, the prerequisites for the oneness the scripture talks about is being able to see the Son of God as the light describes Him. Note two important things from this verse: the first is to see Him as He is in the now and secondly, to see Him as described by the light! What is this true light?
John 1:1 says "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." The point, the Word is God or God is the Word. Then 1 Jhn 1:5 says "... that God is light ..." God is light. When you combine both scriptures, the simple truth becomes obvious; the Word is Light! Nothing and no one else knows everything about anything like the Word of God. Heb 4:12-13 describes the Word thus: "For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account." The Word is all knowing!
