STEEMCHURCH-VENEZUELA: Why should we serve God?

in #steemchurch5 years ago

Make no mistake: God does not need us to serve him. He is able to achieve anything by himself. If with four little words - "Let there be light!" - God made the first light that ever existed, does he need me to try to spread electricity to the most remote places in the world? If with the dust of the earth, God created a mature human being, does he need me to help care for an elderly person?

Our service can not be added to what God does; He can only magnify who he is, extend his love to those around us, and express our gratitude for what he has done. The more I recognize my shortcomings and how deeply God loves me despite them, the more I accept the service mentality.

I will be less concerned that my service makes me look good or even achieve something good for my friends. The focus of my service will be on putting God at the center of attention, on leading other people to God by demonstrating their wonderful love.
