The Key to Enduring Hardships
God has granted unto us countless stunning promises in His Word. Athough we as Children of God are assured of the steadfast love of God (Romans 8:38-39), provisions (2 Corinthians 9:8), and guidance (Proverbs 16:9), God has not promised us an easy, problem-free life. However, we can count on the Lord that He will work out everything—including adversities—for our good (Romons 8:28).
Long before Apostle Paul wrote this message of encouragement to the church in Rome, Joseph- from the old testament-learnt the same principle through an experience of its truth. However, his affirmation of it manifested several years after his unfair suffering came to an end. In the midst of his difficulties he went through, it was doubtful that he comprehended what God was doing in his life.
The same is actually true for us. When our minds and hearts are agitated due to turbulent events, it becomes very hard not to stare at circumstances in fear or confusion. Still, we ought to believe in what the Bible regarding the character, activity, and purposes of God. Such decision takes our attentions off the storms and fix them on the One responsible for taking us safely through.
In the presence of God, horrors dwindle and doubts vanish; peace and a sense of oneness with the Lord replace them. Our duty is to fix our eyes on God and trust the Holy Spirit of God to provide us with strength, wisdom, and boldness.
Beloved, turning to God will not necessarily bring an end to the hardship we are experiencing, rather He will aid us see and realise that we are exactly where He wants us to be. He has a purpose for the discomfort we are experiencing and desires that we grow in Christ through it.
