What are we doing to our children?

Do we lead or follow? Do we teach or do we quietly listen? What is the role of a parent, to steward or simply to ensure our child has "fun"?

Are parents, parents anymore? Or are we just older friends?

In today's post I simply want to share a very concerning video from Tim Pool who discusses a child who performs drag strip shows, because it makes him "happy".

People calling police on "drag kid" family

If you dont know Tim Pool, you should: He is a center left, fair and balanced new media mogel. I dont agree with all he says, but he is good media.

This video makes me think of one bible verse and it is this:

Matthew 18:6 English Standard Version (ESV)

6 but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin,[a] it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.

Matthew 18:6 Greek causes… to stumble; also verses 8, 9

Closing thoughts:

As parents we need to lead, in love, through desires that may be "fun" but are dangerous, and unhealthy.

As parents we cannot always let fun be the goal. We must aim bigger because as parents we are NOT friends who can seek the kid's pleasure first. We are caregivers, we must steward and defend innocence, protect and lead lovingly, always with what is good and right in mind.

Lord help us all.
