RE: What is the importance of the Parable of the Ten Virgins?

in #steemchurch6 years ago

This is a wonderful message. The generally and effectively observed push of the story is that Christ will return at an obscure hour and that His kin must be prepared. Being prepared means getting ready for whatever possibility emerges in our lives and keeping our eyes settled on Jesus constantly while we enthusiastically anticipate His coming. As found in the way that every one of the virgins were resting when the call came shows that it doesn't make a difference what we are doing when Christ returns. We might be working, eating, dozing, or seeking after relaxation exercises. Whatever it is, we should do it so as to not need to "make things right" (get more oil) when He comes. This would apply to either the happening to Christ for His Church or for the Tribulation holy people as they anticipate His second coming. The five virgins without the oil speak to false devotees who appreciate the advantages of the Christian people group without genuine romance for Christ. They are more worried about the gathering than about yearning to see the spouse. Their expectation is that their relationship with genuine devotees ("give us a portion of your oil" of verse 8) will carry them into the kingdom toward the end. This, obviously, is never the case. One individual's confidence in Jesus can't spare another. Thanks for sharing
