STEWARDS OF GOD'S RESOURCES
1 Peter 4:10
As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. Vs 10
Who is a Steward?
A steward is a person who manages the property or affairs for another entity.
What is Stewardship??
- Stewardship is the sense of serving the interest of the Father (Romans 12:6)
- It is serving for the course of the Kingdom (Luke 9:23-24)
- It is serving God by seeking first the Kingdom of God (Matthew 6:33)
- It is sowing into the Kingdom of God (Luke 6:38)
- It is supporting the things of God (Romans 12:13)
The effectiveness and the importance of a stewardship decision is a willingness to serve with divine assurance. Until when everyone understands that there is a need to be part of the workforce of the Kingdom, many lives will remain untouched.
We are called to serve, no one is called that is too much for stewardship. If anyone is too much to serve, then he is too much to lead.
And much is required from whoever have being called to serve, but every service is entitled to being at peace with all men, no matter the condition of the service.
It is also important to note that, no one should think he is greater than others, the evaluation maybe destructive. Service requires knowledge to be acceptable and be approved by God. We are all encouraged to master our line of stewardship and not trying to be jack of all trades.
Stewardship must be done in an atmosphere of :
- Unconditional love
- Honouring each other
- Praying for others
- No pretense nor grudges
Stewardship is a give and take thing. Talent alone can never be enough but character is a guard to your talent and it should be done faithfully.
