GOD IS WITH US, IS GOD WITH YOU?
A lot of people often see God to be very mean to people who experience clamity or disaster in life. To them God might have overlooked or ingored when such calamities were happening to people.
Was God asleep when 157 passengers lost their lives in Ethiopian airlines crash? some people wondered? How would God allow so many people to lose their life in such a terrible way? they asked.
God is not mean as they think, He is merciful, gracious, compassionate, loving and kind. On the other hand He is also a just God that rewards us for all our trangressions, sins and iniquities. This is not to say that people who lose their life in a painful way because they have sinned against God.
They are so many reasons why things happen and God can't be blamed for what happens to our lives even if He was the one that permitted. This is because His ways are deeper than that of man and His thoughts deeper than that of man.
He is perfect and always has good reasons for whatever he permits to happen to our lives.
When Isreal forsook his statutes and commands and did what displeased Him, He permitted their enemies the Medianites to rule over them.
They went through so many hardhsips under the rulership of the Medianites so they thought God had forgotten and abandoned them.
God had always been with Isreal, had perfromed great miracles and delievered them many times from their enemies but this time had departed and there was no manifestation of His power as they have witnessed before.
God wasn't with them this time but was with Gideon the mighty man of valor:
And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him, and said unto him, The LORD is with thee, thou mighty man of valour. And Gideon said unto him, Oh my Lord, if the LORD be with us, why then is all this befallen us? and where be all his miracles which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt? but now the LORD hath forsaken us, and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites. Judges 6:12-13
God wasn't with all but with one man who had found favour in God's sight to deliver an entire nation from slavery. People believe God is with us but is God with you?
It is very hard to go through hard times or experience the worse when God is with you. It is of the fact that the journey won't be easy even when God is with you but you will be assured of a safe arrival.
You may still have to pass through the fire, the waters or rivers that pose a serious threat to your accomplishment or reaching your final destination but in all you will be safe when God is with you.
God will be with you and to see you through if you do what pleaess Him. This is why you cannot join folks who misunderstands God and conclude that is He doesn't exist or He is so mean to His own creation.
You must be the person who will walk closely with God and commit to doing what pleases Him.
You are right Collins , even from the days when inquities started manipulated in man's life. He continues to always be with us.
