Call to the sinner

"Jesus, however, hearing, said to them," The healthy do not need doctors, but the sick. "But, and learn what it means: I want mercy, and not sacrifice, because I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. " Matthew 9: 12-13

Undoubtedly, this biblical passage is a summary of the entire Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. It contains a summary of the Lord's mission, the condition of man and the will of God for his chosen ones. I invite you, sinner, who feels overburdened with his burden of sins and faults to sit down a little, read that message, meditate on it and, by the grace of God, rest on that biblical truth!

Jesus did not come to take care of the healthy, but of the sick. What a blessed remedy he came to apply to our wounds! We were dead in our sins, as it is written: "He gave you life when you were dead for our trespasses and sins" Ephesians 2: 1, a deadly wound was opened in us, which pulsed, throwing out all pus of filth that There was in it. His smell was foul, his appearance horrible, his healing seemingly impossible. Thus we were dead by the mortal wound of sin that corrupted and destroyed our lives, moving us away from the will of God and throwing us into the pit of our transgressions. Only the physician of the doctors could cure an evil as great as the one that fell on all the flesh! Brothers, be sure that sin is a horrible evil, for the disease must be terrible to need a remedy as bitter as the sacrifice of the Son of God!

On this blessed remedy, Isaiah says: "Truly he took our infirmities, and took away our sorrows, and we reckoned him for the afflicted, the wounded of God, and the oppressed." But he was wounded for our transgressions, and he was crushed the cause of our iniquities, the punishment of our peace was upon him, and by his stripes we were healed. " Isaiah 53: 4-5.

Our healing came through the sacrifice of Christ, as a bitter remedy, but necessary, to cleanse men of sickness from their sins. And on that they know with certainty, they are not those who are "healthy" who take of that remedy, but those who are sick! In the same way, Jesus clearly says "I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance" Matthew 9:13. What does that mean? It means that only sinners can be saved through repentance and faith in the Son of God, because no "righteous" needs repentance! Therefore, if you consider yourself to be just, upright and upright, that is, without sin, know that such a call does not apply to you. Consider again his ways and recognize his errors, his faults and transgressions, so that God's remedy may be applied to you, so that he may be healed, and his call may be present in your life!

Self-righteousness can not receive from the Savior's remedy, for it will measure itself, nor can it hear its call, for it concentrates on its own voice. Let us not make God a liar, as it is written: "If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us." I John 1:10. But the repentant man, who considers his ways well, observes the impurity of his heart and the madness of his soul, who feels the putrefaction of sin and desires to come to Christ, will certainly be received by the Physician and Lord of Mercy. The blood of Calvary will cleanse it, the stains of sin will leave it. There will be peace with God, eternal security and a joy that can not be taken by anyone!

Listen to the call of Christ at that moment! If you have read this message so far, know that He is calling you, for He wants to heal you! He experienced the bitterness of the Cross, of lashes, of offenses and even of death to produce the necessary remedy for his salvation. Do you have the courage to refuse to receive it? He is calling you to replace your burden of sin, heavy as it is, terrible as it is, for your soft and light burden, for in the weight of the Cross He bore the burden of your sins, so that you do not walk more curled to sin, but I could stand before Him. Will you deny that you hear His voice? He calls sinners to repentance, he has the power to turn the path of evil and wicked man into a new walk of grace and truth, if only to hear his voice and take the remedy that He prepared for us.
