The return of Jesus ... It's a promise!

There is much documentation in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John that Jesus came to earth as a baby, became a man, died a cruel death, and rose from a grave after three days. Later it was reported that he returned to heaven. Some say it will come back to earth one day, and you would want to learn more about it.

What was the exact promise he made before going back to heaven?

Before the death of Jesus, he had an intimate conversation with his disciples. He wanted to prepare them for his death, resurrection and return to heaven.

"Do not worry, trust God and trust me, there are many houses in my Father's house, otherwise, I would not have told you that I would prepare a place for you and if I go, I will prepare them, I will come to take them with me and so that all of you can be where I am "(John 14: 1-3).

Nothing so incredible as that had happened before. They did not fully understand the promise. Later, it would become clearer.

Jesus added: "It is better for me to leave because, if I do not, the Comforter will not come to you, but if I leave, I will send it to you." (John 16: 7)

Jesus would send the Holy Spirit to live in them and warned that his return would be as quick as lightning, and that they needed to be prepared. Nobody but the Father would know the correct date. Jesus had given the promise and the first part is fulfilled in the book of Acts.

Jesus ascended right in front of his disciples, hidden by a cloud. The fulfillment of the second part of the promise is still pending.

Chapter 24 of Matthew tells about the days that will precede the promised return of Jesus. There are certain signs that indicate that his coming is near.

Jesus told the thief on the cross that he would be with him in paradise that day. When the followers of God die, their spirits go to heaven immediately, but their earthly bodies are buried. The Bible teaches that there will be a physical resurrection with the promised return of Jesus.

Live with the expectation that he promised to return. "But do not forget, dear brothers, that for the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like a day." (2 Peter 3: 8).

Suddenly, they were approached by two men dressed in white, who said: Galileos, what are you doing here looking at the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from among you to heaven, will come in the same way he has been seen to go.

Acts 1: 10-11
