It Is Not All About YOU!

Greetings Everyone,

Today, I want to share in my opinion some of the things we can all do to make this world a better place. Oftentimes, we tend to forget that little thing matters a lot in life. The world is not all about you rather the world is all about everyone especially those close to us like friends, family, colleagues, and neighbors hence peaceful co-existence is very important and necessary. The way you treat others defines your personality! The scriptures encourage us to show love to everyone irrespective of their color, race, religion, background, status, and gender. It is never OK to talk ill of others, it is not also OK to bully others simply because you can and get away with it if we all show love to one another, I believe the world will be a better place. Sometimes, a little act of kindness can go a long way, there are a lot of people in the world dying for someone to love and appreciate them because love heals all wounds, it heals all pains.

Being polite works like magic. There is no need for abusive words. The word we say is like a bullet that can pierce any heart. I remember when I mistakenly stepped on someone at the mall, and the first words that the guy said were "You're an idiot" He said it with so much hate written all over his face, I was sad because it was an honest mistake. When I got home later that day, those words kept ringing in my head. People feel hurt whenever we say a bad thing to them. Some could even hurt for years which is why we must be very careful about the things we say. Always put yourself in another person's shoe! Before you say a word, think about the implications of what you are about to say, and don't be in a hurry to say those words. Yes, I know it's a free world, but let's try as much as possible to add humanity to whatever we do. Watch what you say to your kids, parents, friends, colleagues, subordinates, and those you meet on the street. Stop online bullying, those celebrities are humans too. Be kind through your words, actions, and deeds. We are all humans, and little things could drive us nuts! Don't be the reason why someone somewhere is depressed and frustrated. It is always beautiful to compliment others, make someone feel special and loved with your words.

Be the light amongst your siblings and friends. Always make yourself available and be prepared to listen. Don't be in a haste to shut up anyone even if what they are saying is not making sense. You might have the techniques that you use to explain and pass your message across, but not everyone has that same means. Some people commit suicides because no one is willing to hear them out. And some go about their daily activities with much hate because they feel unloved. It will be nice to take a little time out of your busy schedule to start up a conversation with someone. It is easier to open up to strangers and let it all out. Be the person that anyone would love to approach by always wearing a smile look. We must not be the likes of Bill Gates to touch those around us, if it's possible, visit the orphanage & hospitals once in a while, stay with the sick and make them feel, they are not alone. This will truly mean a lot to them. I do this every month and I have always loved every moment that I've shared with them.

Remember, we are all created equally as such it is expected we treat everyone with respect. The fact that you can afford Gucci clothes does not mean that those with cheaper clothes are lesser humans. And the fact that you have a fleet of cars does not give you the right to splash water on those on feet. Being educated does not mean we should disregard those who are not opportune to have that same education. I think we are given a different level of opportunity in order to help those who do not have the same. I am not saying we shouldn't celebrate our achievements, but it will be best when we don't think so highly of ourselves. For those of us in bigger positions, we could use it to assist those coming down that lane as long as they are on the right track. Not everyone is intelligent as you are, but you could offer to tutor your fellow students, colleagues and help them grow. In essence, use that special gift of yours to help others.

No man is an island, no one is self-sufficient; we all need each other. I need you and you need me too. We are one big family! We need each other to make the world a better place, the rich need the poor, and the poor needs the rich, the chain goes on and on. There is no way to survive this earth on your own, you will definitely need the help of others at some point in life. And that is why we must be careful of those we meet upstairs because we might also meet them on our way down, you never can tell where you will meet again. Inasmuch as the world is a very big place, be reminded that the world is also a very small place. Don't have the idea that you can actually treat someone like trash, after all, you will probably never meet again, remember, it's not all about you!
