STEEMCHURCH - Against All ODDS!
Yes, against all odds you will make it and you know why? Well, the answer is very simple and straightforward. You will make it because you belong to Jesus. You will make it because you were chosen by God Himself to excel.
Odd is something different to what is expected. This simply means when people expect a certain end for you just because they know your story or history. Often times, people will sit down and decide to write how our stories will end or what we will be in the future because they have some facts available and believe they have seen it all. They believe there is nothing left to be seen. So, they will come up with the idea of how the story ends, but they always forget that not all truth can be seen except with the spiritual eyes.
Secondly, a lot of people may be blinded to the truth that only you and Christ can see. The Bible says with Christ Jesus we are more than a conqueror. Now, it doesn't matter how your story might have started. It still doesn't matter what is written on paper or how familiar your story looks like, what matter is Christ in you, who is greater than any odds you can think of as long as you hold tight to him.
Jesus was mocked by his people probably because nothing good has ever come out of Nazareth but Jesus changed the story. It didn't go the way people wanted it to go. The history was changed because God still has the final say irrespective of what people think. He holds the key to our lives and with Him, on our side, the odds will be to our favor.
The question is where do you stand? What is your standpoint in all of these? Do you want to go with what is expected of you or do you want to disabuse what was expected? The decision lies within us to choose. Oh yes! No one in your family has ever made it in life and this can be traced to the fourth generation so it is expected that you will also not make it in life. Well, it is up to you to decide whether you want to be different or go with the crowd. You know, I have seen believers feel so discouraged on stuff like this and say "My uncle knew Christ yet the story ended the same way and they give up the hopes of being different and finally succumbed to what everyone else believes.
My dear, knowing Christ is different from believing in him and His Father. Some people know Christ as the savior, they go to church and all that but it ends on their lips. No, I am not talking about these set of people rather I am talking about those who truly believe in Christ. People who follow him because He is a destiny changer. Believers who truly worship Him for who he is and what He can do.
The Bible says He (God) has good thoughts for us. Imagine those perfect and excellent thoughts God has for you and I. I am very sure these thoughts have nothing to do with what the world thinks of you and I. It has nothing to do with your family background. It has nothing to do with stories that happened to all your generations rather these thoughts are good plans to prosper us and not to harm us. These plans are to give us hope and a future that will bring us to our expected end and not people's expectation except, of course, you have bad plans for yourself. As for me, I love myself and I want to be great in life with my hard work and I know with Christ in me, I will excel against all odds.
Although the situation can get confusing especially when it looks as if you will probably end up like others, but let's not forget that Jesus never fails. He is the God of odd hour Himself. He visits when we least expected when we might think the time is passed then He shows up. I also want to remind us that no time is actually late for Him. He knows exactly when to visit and it will wow everyone to the glory of God. He knows when to show up and people will know He is God.
However, faith is the key here. Our trust in God goes a long way. Do you trust and have faith in Him that no matter the odds, winning is a sure thing? In order to win against all odds, we must test our faith to see if it can stand the storms and name callings. I have seen believers holding tight to the promise of God, but lose it along the line because of the pressure from others. People will tell you all kinds of stories and give you reasons why your story isn't different from other stories they have seen/heard. They make you doubt your faith and trust in God. The truth is, when the pressure becomes much then you should know that your breakthrough is on the way. Yes, this is the honest truth, if the situation gets harder, glue and stay true to God and hold Him harder.
What am I saying? My message today to anyone believes in Christ but thinks the odd is against him. I want to join my faith and yours to remind you that you can make it against all odds because Jesus says so and we believe He can do far exceedingly what He says He will do. The odds are not meant for the heavenly. Have faith and trust that Christ will rewrite and change your story against all odds.
