SteemChurch:Beware of the trap of anger.

in #steemchuch6 years ago (edited)

Anger can make us lose the spiritual blessings that God has for those who seek Him, but it can also damage our relationships with our brothers in the church, marriage, friendships, etc. God wants us to be forgiven people, and Christ is our best example.

"And Ahab came to his house sad and angry, because of the word that Naboth the Jezreelite had answered him, saying, I will not give you the inheritance of my fathers. And he lay down on his bed, and turned his face, and did not eat. "
1 Kings
21: 4 (NKJ60)

King Ahab is very angry and his response was to lie down and not eat ... this attitude is common in children when they do not get what they want, unfortunately, it is not limited to children and we can see it in a king who could not get something he wanted, since by law, Naboth could not sell him the inheritance of his children, so he knew that he could not force him, which made him feel frustrated and helpless, despite his power as king. What do we do when we are angry? In Ephesians 4: 26-27 we are told something very important: "Also," do not sin by letting anger control you. " Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, because anger gives place to the devil "(NLT). What tells us that anger is not a sin in itself, but the way we respond to this emotion can be, because in the midst of this strong emotion we can do things that we might regret later, because in the middle of the We do not do what God likes (James 1:20, DHH).

What should we do when we feel angry? We must act instead of react, what is the difference? The reaction is a reflected response to a stimulus, it is not thought, it is only answered ... the action involves stopping to think and analyze the situation and the best way to approach and solve the conflict. The Bible helps us a lot, because there we find truths that will allow us to calm down and act in the way that Jesus would. For example, to overlook the offense, to forgive, to know that our struggle is not carnal or physical, but behind there is a spiritual world trying to rob us of peace; pray, bless, intercede and give thanks, because we know that in the end, everything will work for good to those who love Him. It is not easy, but God has left us equipped with His Holy Spirit to strengthen us and guide us.

Can I as a Christian get angry?

The Christian is called to avoid all kinds of anger (Ephesians 4:31), but if we get angry, we must avoid sinning with our performance and we must not give place to the devil over all things. And do not let the sun go down on our anger (Ephesians 4: 26-27).

"Be angry but do not sin": It means being at all times conscious of ourselves and of our call to a holy and spiritual life, not doing anything undue which could put our spiritual relationship in danger.

"Do not let the sun go down on our anger": The Bible tells us about being like a child to enter the kingdom of heaven. We must forgive our offenses to one another. Anger is contrary to peace. And at peace we are called the Lord with all men.

"If it is possible as far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men." Romans 12:18.

"Do not give place to the devil": Failing to give place to the devil means not allowing our anger to be so great that we give place to the devil in our lives and "use us" to harm ourselves or those around us.

Seek Peace with everyone: Uncontrolled anger is a behavior contrary to the Word of God and its requirement that we live in peace, harmony, love, submission and self-control.

Biblical verses that speak of anger:

Proverbs 11:23

The desire of the righteous is only the good; But the hope of the ungodly is anger.

Proverbs 14:17

The one who easily gets mad will do crazy things; And the wicked man will be hated.

Proverbs 22

24 Do not meddle with the angry one, Nor go with the angry man, 25 lest you learn his ways, And take a snare for your soul.

Ecclesiastes 7
9 Do not hurry in your spirit to be angry; because anger rests in the bosom of fools.

Sort:

In Matthew 5:21, 22, he says: "You have said that it was said to the ancients, 'You shall not kill', whoever kills will be guilty of judgment, but I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be guilty of judgment; He says "Foolish" to his brother, he will be guilty before the Council, and anyone who says "Fatuous" will be exposed to the inferno of fire.
