Hello everyone in this community of @steem-BRU thanks for the opportunity of show casing the plants that sorround us in our community.
I therefore present my week participation of steem plants supported by @knopka145.
OCIMUM GRATISSIMUM
This is normally known as African Basil tea and locally called as Mujaja in my country. It has different names like clove basil, wild basil, from kingdom plantae.
We grow this plant at home basically for tea purposes.
It is normally added to the boiling water being prepared for tea so as to provide a nice scent as your enjoying your cup of coffee.
It is also a local medicine for stomach pain and lung infections. It is not advisable to take this plant while your pregnant and have low Sugar levels.
CABBAGE
This is a food grown in my home area by my neighbours and have always shared it when it comes to the harvesting season.
It normally takes like 2 months to grow. Among the healthy benefits of cabbage include:- mostly the red cabbage, helpful in heart problems, reduces on the painful breasts among the breast feeding mothers, enriched in skin glowing and rich in vitamin c.
KISUBI GRASS
At home we also use the kisubi tea a tea flavour, providind a nice scent to your cup of tea. It is also prepared by adding it in the boiling water which is being prepared for tea
MAIZE PLANT
This is normally grown at my grandmother's place and locally referred to as kasooli. It is used to make pop corns after it drying up and also grilled to make posho.
