And so the poultry season begins.
We have been preparing all day yesterday for the arrival of our birds to kickstart the poultry season.

D day has come and our birds have arrived. Little creatures that don't know how much they've cost us both in time, money and energy😂.

We haven't gotten everything ready yet so it's a race against time, though their pen has been fixed and it's surroundings sealed to prevent air as this first few weeks of their lives they need as much heat and warmth as they can get.
Mum says she bought them now because their price is low. Their price dances atilogwu like the price of bitcoin, today it's wayyyy up and tomorrow it goes down and like every good investor, you wait till prices dip then you buy and hold.
The bags of feed have arrived. For now we give them a type of feed called starters. Feeding is about to commence as I portion out their feed in their feeders.

The electrician is working to fix the light bulb for that pen though this light is more for sight than for warmth.
For warmth of the birds, we have bought charcoal which will be lit in the evening as the weather gets chilly. A bag of charcoal going for as high as 12,000 naira which is about 65 steem.

At this time, I'm already sweating like the Yoruba goat called "ewure",nevertheless the work must go on. Mum just informed me that the side we put the birds leak when it rains, so we have to seal up the other half of it and transfer the birds there, but for now, we've "accepted" them and can take a break to breathe before we dive in again.

Total cost accrued at this start not including vitamins are:

• Feed - starter pack (11 bags at 362k naira worth approximately 500 steem.)
• 1 bag of charcoal - worth approximately 65steem.
• Trampoline - 1 bundle = 75 steem. So total and counting is at 640 steem. Wheeeewwww 🤧.

Did I forget to mention?, I've found a hidden treasure for the world of poultry farming. I envisage myself diving Into it's inky depths later today, or whenever I find time this week.
