To the best of my understanding, Farm safety simply means the practice of farmers implementing safety measures to protect the health and well-being of farmers, animals in the farms, and the environment.
Also, it is all about managing risks that arise on a farm while working with farm equipment, chemicals, machinery, and other farm equipment. The purpose of farm safety is to educate farmers on how they can use their tools, maintain farm tools, and a whole lot more.
Discuss about Risk management in Agriculture
When we are talking about risk management in agriculture, it simply means we are referring to how farmers can identify, assess, manage, and mitigate risks to minimize losses. Below are some of the factors for risk management in agriculture.
- Climate variability
- Market volatility which is about price fluctuations
- Pests and diseases
- Financial risks
- Equipment and labor risk
How do we reduce health risks in agriculture ?.
Some of the ways we can reduce health risks in agriculture are as follows:
- We can use personal protective equipment
- We can use protection when handling pesticides and chemical
- We can encourage proper body posture
- By training and educating ourselves often
- By going for regular checkups.
