Farming is not only agriculture but the life blood of existence, culture and creativity. When we discuss agriculture nowadays we no longer speak of ploughing the soil or sowing the seeds. We discuss the idea of drones flying over the fields, soil sensors, and the ability of farmers to monitor the rainfall and the health of crops using mobile apps. Agriculture is a changing world, which is both fascinating and combining tradition and technology.

Among the most intriguing developments is the fact that the youths are getting integrated into agribusiness. Farming does not appear to be out of fashion to modern youth, as it is viewed as an intelligent profitable business. They are introducing innovation in food production through organic farming to hydroponics. Even the social media is now involved in it- farmers are writing about their progress on online platforms, reaching out to markets directly and alleviating other people to join the movement.

Sustainability is also the central point of the new face of agriculture. Farmers are becoming educated on how to produce more by wasting less-recycling, less use of chemicals and preservation of soil fertility. There is a tradeoff between feeding the planet and taking care of the planet which feeds us.

The great potential of agriculture is the fact that it is endless. One can envision cities where vertical farms cultivate fresh vegetables on rooftops, or farmers in rural areas sell their products to the transparent cross-border market with the help of blockchain. The farm no longer looks at land as a constraint to agriculture; it is ideas driven.

Agriculture unites us all regardless of how big or small the backyard garden or the plantation is, through the food we consume and the air we inhale. It is not only farmers who can determine the future of agriculture, but it is innovators, dreamers, and those who believe that life starts at the soil.
