My Creative writing: A Day For Harvesting, Processing of Cassava and Managing Others Activities

The greatest expectation of a farmer is the harvest time, he/she eagerly looking up for maturity period so that he could enjoy his labour by harvesting for either family consumption or sales and use the money for other necessity at home. Most farmers in Akwa cultivate a small portion of farmland mainly for their family consumption and this system of farming for family consumption is called subsistence agriculture or farming. In these nature of farming sophisticated tools are not use work are done manually by the farmer.

So I decided to harvest cassava yesterday in the farm using manual implement such as matchet and wheelbarrow, these was in constant with the type of farming system which I do practice, I did the whole job alone and it took time before I could finish harvesting, using manual labour can be tedious and tiring because all the work is dependent on human labour and I was sweating profusely while in the process of harvesting.

After harvesting I packed the harvested cassava in a bag seal the mouth and carry it using wheelbarrow back home

When I got home with the cassava, I empty the bag containing cassava on the floor and started processing by peeling, washing and soaking it inside water for fermentation processing to take place.

After I had finished up to last stage which was only left with filling the basin containing washed cassava with water, I was feeling very hungry so I quickly made this turn pot by cutting the available leave in the compound and make these soup, after preparing the soup I make garri and eat immediately

After eating, I put water in the cassava before I had my shower,then bring my chores to a wrap for the day.

Your meal looks delicious and healthy! The pot soup with local veggies must have been tasty. Garri is always a great way to finish a meal. It’s nice how you prepared the cassava water after eating very traditional! You ended your day well with chores nd a shower. Keep sharing your daily routine ..it’s interesting!.😊

I have missed the days I used to go to farm with my grandmother to process cassava, you are truly a good farmer and a versatile one for that manner.
This kind of garri will be good for sipping. I missed this anyways.
