  • Bargaining, also known as negotiating, is a discussion process where two or more parties aim to decide on a price, term, or condition that is suitable to everyone involved.

ARE YOU A GOOD BARGAINER? WHAT TACTICS DO NORMAL USE?

  • I often bargain with clients by initially setting a higher price for a product to make them feel valued and create a comfortable interaction. For example, if a product sells for 10 steem, I tell the client it's 15 steem. This way, when they negotiate, they feel happier about the deal. This approach can lead to successful transactions and may make the client return for more business.

  • But if I'm to bargain, I offer half of the seller's original price to check if the item is actually being sold at the price they mentioned. When i start to increase little by little.

ARE YOU OF THE OPINION THAT ALL GOODS SHOULD BE UNDER BARGAIN OR UNDER A FIXED PRICE? Explain.

  • All goods should have fixed prices to save time for both buyers and sellers. Bargaining often takes too long, and people might end up not buying. Fixed prices, like in supermarkets, make transactions quicker and reduce queues, unlike local markets where bargaining wastes time.

HAVE YOU FALLEN VICTIM OF BUYING THINGS HIGHER DUE TO NOT KNOWING HOW TO BARGAIN?

  • Yes, i have found myself in that position of buying an item higher than the price 😅. Because I don't like spending too much time shopping and worrying, sellers might get upset if I haggle. Most sellers aren't very friendly, so to avoid embarrassment, I tend not to bargain much.

  • I but corn 🌽 for 500 naira each, but normally, if i had the zeal or the skills to bargain, i could have ended up buying it less. Let's say the price is randomly fixed in a way that the buyer and seller both will benefit equally it also good to avoid embarrassment. When i was there, one guy came and priced the same corn that's selling for 500 he priced 300 the woman replied him angrily and said do you know how much i bought a full bag of corn and you're prices it 300. That's what I'm avoiding, embarrassment.
