Abstaining from food or specific foods for an extended period of time is known as fasting. It may be utilized for spiritual, religious, medical, or other purposes. It is frequently carried out for a set amount of time in order to concentrate on prayer or meditation. Moreover, the body can be detoxified and the digestive tract can be cleaned through fasting.

What are the health benefits of fasting in Ramadan?

There are many health benefits we can derived from fasting some of them are as follows:
  • Better Psychological Well being: Fasting has been shown to boost focus and concentration while reducing anxiety and psychological stress.

  • Increased White Blood Cell Production: By encouraging the body to produce more white blood cells, fasting can help to strengthen your immune system. Your health and infection resistance will both benefit from this.

What are some misconcepts regarding the fasting in Ramadan

  • There is a misconception that fasting is only about giving up food and drink. While this is true, fasting is also a time for spiritual development, introspection, and increased piety.

  • Those who are unwell, pregnant, nursing, menstruation, or traveling may be spared from fasting and may make up any days missed at a later date.

  • Fasting is compulsory for all Muslims, who have the ability to fast, and must not eat or drink during the day. And they are allow to eat anything before or after sunset.

Firstly I like eating different types of fruits to break my fast, fruits like orange, watermelon and pineapple. After that, I like to take jollof rice with chicken

For sehar, I like eating Àmàlà, it is a traditional Nigerian food made from fermented yams and cassava. The yams and cassava are pounded, boiled and mashed together to form a thick, sticky paste. The paste is then served with a variety of accompaniments such as peanut sauce, fish and vegetable stew,

Give some tips to maintain our mental and physical health in Ramadan.

  1. Reading the glorious Al-Qur’an, apart from felling relief, you still get reword from it.

  2. Get enough sleep: To maintain your physical and mental health during Ramadan, it is important to get enough sleep.

  3. Eat healthy: Eating a balanced and nutritious diet is important for keeping your energy levels up and maintaining your physical and mental health during Ramadan. Aim to include plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables and try to avoid processed foods.

Conclusion

Fasting during Ramadan is a special experience that can provide much joy and calm as well as a deeper understanding of one's faith.
