While you all fight about the trending page you are missing the idea that SteemIt is not the future it is the Firehose.

Rewarding Bloggers and Content Creators is a difficult thing, it has been tried in Mainstream many times. We will continue to try it, but as we have found out it isn't easy to have a decentralized community that also attracts Mainstream. They can't handle the language, they don't like memes or Conspiracy, or Liberals, or Flags or they don't like YOU. (ha, kidding) They want Ned to come and fix everything. They don't like investors or voting bots or whatever it is that they don't like. Most people only want Freedom to the extent that it benefits them. Most of us also have very little experience working in a decentralized environment.
We can have both! We will have both.
If you don't like how SteemIt is, or the trending page or whatever, that is fine make a post. After you are done posting look around at the new platforms and those that are coming. Find a "Content" community, or an Art community, or a Singing Community. a Gift Economy and work with those people to develop your own vision of what you thought SteemIt would/should/could be.
If you are still trying to Tweak SteemIt, you are not seeing what is developing!
Tomorrow earning Steem will be even harder than it is today.

We are not . I see steem community humble and doers . Competition is good for general market . The best will win . Some of the rest will survive and rest give up - this is just how every tech marketplace works. Then again i will personally hope and believe in steem . First mover advantage with efficient team is remarkable.

It's unfortunate that many people come on steemit and fail to see that there is so much more being built and then judge the value and potential of the token by what they see on trending. Would be nice if Dapps were easily found somewhere, like there being a menu on steemit.com that let people browse for verified apps.

Yes, I'm thinking a Steem Blockchain landing page where you log in, general info and help, see general and specific wallet information, SMTs that you hold and drop downs or links to each of the applications! :)
I guess I should start sketching it up.
It would be cool if steemconnect did something like that.
The Blogger interface is actually a pretty good template for that; there are a bunch of optional widgets containing different apps that you can drag into your basic bare-bones blog page. You can add a jillion things or no things, depending on what your objective is.
The particular aspect of this community that will remain a major block for a "mainstream" user is precisely that the apps are all over the place. I don't want to have 17 separate accounts, I want to have everything in one place. It doesn't have to be "centralized," logistically speaking, I just want a "wrapper" that makes it LOOK centralized.

I think in a few weeks when Steemit hits 1 million users we will see Steemit in the Main Stream Media, and everyone who has not been active on Steemit will come back and start being active again.. You have over 1500+ followers so I think if you stay consistent you will start noticing a change soon! 🤘😄

I'm sorry about walking around and being negative. I didn't look into those new changes communities/SMT etc and I don't know how they will effect us.
I really don't care about trending page since I never check it even if I do I don't expect to see something worthy.
There are solutions to everything, if we annoyed by memes. I gathered an idea from some other project that posts contents under a main post like a comment this way people can share memes without destroying their feed or annoying their followers.
I've been thinking about a design community (actually a dribbble clone-ish something) and my goal is to make that place invitation-only and count only application's users vote to display worthy content on its trending page or wherever they need to be displayed (..obviously it won't attract any current investor). It's about ethics, I'm actually a designer so I'm a noob developer thanks to steemit and I can see those things can happen, these guys literally knows to talk with computers with 0 and 1s but they choose to be greedy without noticing the potential of steemit. I've seen that you are worried about loosing investors but if they earn 1 by investing 1 with bid-botes, and after we get rid of those bots and inequal situations we may attract more people so their 1 investment could worth more than 1. I still didn't invite any of my friend or family member into this mess. Because I know it's not about share something and get rewarded. Yeah my english fails me again. So I'm just gonna end it here, hope it's not going to give headache to whoever try to understand what I've just wrote :)

That only happened a couple of times. Also, back then we had 104 week power down, so nearly none of those people actually earned and kept that amount. :)
