Are you ready to give up on Steem? Sell me your account.
So here's the deal: I want to buy your account.
My offer is 70% of the current value of your SP, based on the CoinMarketCap price. That's a pretty nice discount, but if you think Steem is going to keep falling, it mitigates your downside risk entirely. While past performance doesn't indicate future results, for much of the year it has been a better deal to sell at 70% than to power down and sell Steem when you get it. Here's a chart:
For convenience 70% and powerdown numbers are based on 130 SP.
Powerdown numbers after May 15 are based on a steady price of 0.88 from today.
And that doesn't take the time cost into account. Who wants to stick around on a site they don't believe in anymore for thirteen weeks to get value out of it? I wouldn't, and I bet you wouldn't, either. So here's a way to get out clean, immediate, and move on to your next thing without having to keep thinking about Steem after you're already emotionally done. If you wanted a social media site that was like constantly running into your ex, you'd still be on Twitter.
How does this work?
You give me your master password. I change your passwords, and then I pay you the liquid equivalent. I have about 1000 SBD and $4000 USD to do this with at the moment. If you choose SBD I'll send it to an exchange with your address/code. If you choose USD I'll send you an EFT or a check and a screenshot that I've done it. (You probably need to be in the US for this method.) I can also change that USD into some other coin if you want to wait a few days.
You send first because I'm the one who Steem social reputation will still mean something to, and we'll do this publicly in the comments here so there's a record on the blockchain. If you want an escrow you're welcome to use one as long as any fees come out of your end. I expect we can agree on someone we both trust.

No, I just want your Steem, and I figure there's value in not needing it in a hurry. I'll be powering it down and moving the Steem to my own accounts, and in the meantime your account will vote on my projects. I'm not interested in pretending to be you, or starting a spam botnet, or doing anything with the account. In fact, if you end up changing your mind and want to come back to Steem, you're welcome to have your account back after I've taken the Steem out of it.

Nobody who smelled remotely legitimate. It's ok - I've been doing quite well trading some of that cash back and forth between Steem and SBD instead.
Ha, no one prepared to put their money where their mouths are! Powering down gives them a bit of a backup if it picks up again!
I know I'm super late to this post, but do you actually make any real profit from doing this? I always seem to fail whenever I try this. Am I unlucky or just missing something?

(Oh, the moving between Steem and SBD? Yeah, I make a little. I bought a couple hundred SBD yesterday at .995 for instance, that's looking nice today.)

The presence of the conversion mechanism makes SBD pretty predictable - if it's below $1 it generally moves towards $1. Steem is harder to predict and there's it's pretty much gambling.

Genius. I'm not actually hoping for anyone to sell out, but for certain if they want to get out I hope this is how they do it.
Changing master password won't secure your end enough. As the other party has old master password and access to the email they opened the account with, they can recover the account after you send them SBD or USD.
You can change the recovery account but that takes 30 days to take effect.
So, the other party can scam you. Are you willing to take so much risk?
I talked this through briefly with Neoxian beforehand and I think it's manageable. He's been holding owner keys as collateral for his bank for a while and feels that as long as the transaction is public the recovery account should see it and refuse to recover.
I might stay away from accounts with non-standard recovery accounts though.

I know annonsteem and other account creation services' recovery process is manual but I thought recovery process via steemit.com for recovery account
steemwas automated.I want to know how many takers you get on this. If people sell you accounts with less than 100 SP in them, then they're clearly just trying to punk you.
Hmm, funny thought... Will you even take those accounts? 13 weeks to power down less than 100 SP, then transfer the STEEM to yourself (while also keeping track of all of the private keys and account names and the 13 week period of powering down)...?
Also, how many scammers are you going to likely be dealing with?
This sounds like a great idea (in theory), but much more effort than it's worth...

I probably should set some sort of minimum but it will be way less than 100 SP. 15 maybe. Probably the best market for this is people in the 50-100 range, who just want to get something for it.

This post has to do with the gif and not anything else. The scenes of portraying dollar bills like that and throwing them in the air is highly disrespectful/sinful/blasphemous. The phrase "In God We Trust" is printed on dollar bills along with possible significant names that deserve respect because of its origins and/or meaning. Such actions should not be done or depicted in any form.

this is hardly a good advertisement for steemit. Why get frustrated with negative posts? i have always thought that there are enough positive people on steemit so that negative comments will not affect them.
people who want to leave steemit will anyway see it as a negative reaction from community members.
