There are some hardware wallets for bitcoin on the market at the moment.
Hardware walllet enables storage of cryptocurrency like bitcoin outside computer.
This is the most secure way of storage.
Now the lowest price for bitcoin hardware walllet is around 60 Usd. It is easy to use it and it is small,usualy in the form of USB stick.Ones the hardware wallet is disconnected from USB port,it is safe.
People like to have money in their hand.In the future, hardware wallets will be for free.
On that way ,it allows crypto"treasure"to be place in the same box with gold silver stocks etc.
The hardware wallets for other cryptos are still in development.As the price goes down and technolgy becomes more efective,more and more people are will buy hardware wallets.
You may see these things for cold storage but you won't see anyone pay with these. Smartphone is the way to go for now ;)
Keep small amounts on smartphone ...yes.
Keep big amounts on smarthphone....no.
