"SMTs" Going to be launched on Daybit exchange - Steemhunt, eSteem, Utopian, Actifit, Fundition, Tasteem, Tripsteem, Dclick, nTOPAZ, K-pop Steem, dLike

in #steem5 years ago

Over the past couple of months, we witnessed a surge of positive development on the Steem blockchain. From new interfaces like @wherein, inception of @steemalliance, @blocktrades building Steem.DAO, fruition of the instantly popular new game on Steem DrugWars, addition of STEEM/USD trading pair on Lykke exchange, to finally having the ability to launch Steem-based coins on STEEM ENGINE but, none of that is what I really want to talk about in today's blog.

The point of mentioning these developments is solely for the purpose of shutting up the FUDders and to paint a clear picture of how, even in the longest bear run to date, development of and on the STEEM blockchain is at full throttle! This just goes to show how strongly people believe in this chain of blocks and how immense their determination to make it the best and most usable one out there, truly is.

Continuing on that note I would like to share another development that is bound to have explosive positive impacts on this place and a number of projects involved in this undertaking.

@steemhunt is in the talks with Daybit exchange to list STEEM/SBD on their exchange and to support temporary ERC-20 versions of tokens which are inevitably going to convert to SMT when the mythical feature is finally implemented. A feature which quite a lot of Steem-based projects were counting on to strive that has been postponed time after time again, halting their development and preventing them from achieving the massive success they deserve. Obviously, @steemhunt has had enough of the waiting game and decided to take things into their own hands and find a solution to this outstanding issue, which they did.

This is what was agreed upon with Daybit exchange:

  1. List Steem and SBD tokens on Daybit
  2. List the temporary SMT tokens on Daybit (such as ERC20) with STEEM trade pairs
  3. Support fundraising for SMT projects via IEO (Initial Exchange Offering)
  4. Support token swap of those temporary tokens to the SMT version when it’s ready
  5. Support fiat currency trade pairs for the SMT tokens that have enough market volume

And here is a list of all Steem-based dapps which agreed to launch their own ERC-20 tokens on the Daybit exchange:

Needless to say, it will be quite interesting to see how these projects will create value for their tokens. That's something I thought about for a very long time now and I'm very eager to finally find out how they plan to achieve it. They certainly had more than enough time to structure their business model and build the economic structure from the ground up. Thus, hopefully this waiting game is going to pay out in the long run.

This is what everyone has been waiting for. A way for Steem-based projects to acquire liquidity necessary to launch their development to the Moon and a way for you who HODL these tokens to dump them on the market in exchange for some more STEEM.

Will these tokens be worth anything when the markets open their doors, is anyone's guess, but as long as there is some sort of liquidity they must be worth something. Anyhow, their price in the first weeks of listing is obviously not going to be the same as these projects continue development, attract investors and grow their user-base.

In the next couple of months, the mentioned projects will have an opportunity to take a major leap forward. Forward, into better a better future for themselves, their users and the entire Steem blockchain.

Who will make the most of it, is again, anyone's guess, but if I had to put my money on it I would say that @utopian-io and @steemhunt are going to be the ones.

What do you think? Which project will benefit the most out of listing their tokens on Daybit and which token will be worth the most?

Let me know what you think in the comments down below.

Those that create not only the gateways to liquidity but also the utility of their tokens will be worth the most. For example, if @actifit is able to create a market where their tokens are exchangeable for fitness related products, not only will the token be valuable but the Dapp and community itself will see increased adoption and interest.

Definitely! It's going to be interesting to see how many companies will be interested to offer discounts or products in exchange for actifit tokens. It would be awesome if they would be able to sign a deal with a major established fitness company but hard to achieve as most of them aren't involved in crypto, yet.

I will surely be hally here to see actifit been listed of course. That will surely be a great news. Actually what is still keeping me confused is that is it still true that the smt is still going to ve fufilled

Well, this is a thrilling post to see. We need to get those smt's going somehow and do not think anything revolutionary is coming from steemit. As soon as I started to understand the power of the dapps, this is where I have been posting and putting my attention.

Do you have any suggestions for little people like me to help support this effort? I have limited understanding of what goes on here or anything about smt's but I hope they are as good as people think.

For now, I will tweet and hope some smarter people than me see this post.

Soz for the late reply, working 10-12h shifts to be able to buy some STEEM isn't leaving me with much time to answer comments QQ

First suggestion would be not to undermine yourself by using that little me label. You aren't little, you are infinite awareness trapped in a human body. That's so much more than little and using that expression/label will do you no good in life.

Secondly, you can get the word out there as you did on twitter and additionally talk about it on STEEM and irl if you have an opportunity to mention this to your friends/family and get them interested in our beloved blockchain and all of the dapps it has to offer.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving such a meaningful comment @fitinfun!

I think that actifit has the most attraction as a mass adoption project and token. It's something that can appeal to a large body of people and companies wanting to get involved in the latest fitness trends. Having and app that rewards people for being fit and healthy. That is something that a lot of companies could get behind.

For people having an app that provides rewards for hitting fitness targets. Who wouldn't want that on their phone? The main barrier that I can see for any of these projects gaining a large following is the difficulty in translating any of the rewards into fiat or being able to spend it on real world goods.Even for us trying to convert STEEM the other way is a struggle.

I think the real game changer for all of us is when we have a STEEM wallet on the phone that we can use like apple pay. Instant spending at any terminal or any online store. Once we remove the barriers we will see people flood the space.

Many of you think alike, although I can't agree with that completely, I'm well aware that actifit has a good chance of making a good name for itself and establishing a fairly decent price in the coming years.

As for translating rewards into fiat, it could be easier, that I can agree on but it isn't hard whatsoever. Once you sell steem for btc (can easily be done from Steemit.com via accessing blocktrades through the wallet) it's just a matter of selling that btc for cash which shouldn't be a hassle.

I think the real game changer for all of us is when we have a STEEM wallet on the phone that we can use like apple pay.

Agreed!

I disagree with you there. For computer illiterate people with little knowledge of crypo and no knowledge of exchanges moving anything is far from easy. A lot of the exchanges don't have steem and some of the ones that do don't have easy fiat deposits not to mention charges in between all of these moves. I use kraken to deposit as it takes bank transfers with no fees and then have to move that to binance to buy steem before sending it to my wallet. That takes time, effort, multiple registrations and research. The same goes if I want to move it the other way. There are probably better ways but this is the one that's I've found the easiest and fastest.

That is a lot of steps when at the moment I can tap my bank card off a terminal and pay in seconds. That is the gap that we need to bridge. Now I power up all of my steem since I wouldn't sell anything at this price but if we were sitting on $5 per token I would probably use some for spending.
