Weekly report: How much STEEM is stored on the exchanges? - January 10, 2019steemCreated with Sketch.

People are transferring their STEEM to exchanges like crazy!
They are all selling at the bottom, IMO.
It also includes a large transfer of 1.5 million STEEM from @ned to @bittrex (4 days ago).

The charts below show how much STEEM is stored on each exchange where STEEM is listed.

Rule #1 in the crypto world: Don't store your cryptocurrencies on an exchange!

STEEM stored on all exchanges

STEEM stored on Bittrex

STEEM stored on Poloniex

STEEM stored on Binance

STEEM stored on Huobi

STEEM stored on Upbit

STEEM stored on Bithumb

STEEM stored on Openledger

STEEM stored on Gopax

How much STEEM is currently stored on each exchange?

ExchangeSTEEM
Bittrex28,646,761 STEEM
Poloniex9,786,650 STEEM
Binance14,446,877 STEEM
Huobi3,897,944 STEEM
Upbit1,409,159 STEEM
Bithumb1,498,929 STEEM
Openledger524,710 STEEM
Gopax339,008 STEEM

Total amount of STEEM stored on all exchanges: 60,550,038 STEEM
Total STEEM supply: 292,671,394 STEEM
Liquid STEEM: 86,418,815 STEEM

  • 20.7% of the total supply is stored on the exchanges.
  • 70.1% of all liquid STEEM is stored on the exchanges.

People selling at the bottom are either desperate for money or don’t see how steem will ramp again...

·

Yes, as soon as we stop haircutting SBD and it gets back to $1 our inflation will be drastically lowered. This reduced supply combined with how oversold we are could easily cause the price to x2 or x3 while everything else has only gone up like 50%.

·
·

Right now we are around 7,100 satoshis, you think it’ll 2x?

·
·
·

If we went x2 right now we'd be at #31, which is right around where we were before Bitcoin crashed to 3.2k and STINC fired 70%... so yeah I think x2 is going to be pretty easy once SBD stops being converted.

·
·
·
·

Hopefully that happens soon, we have quite a way to go before steems price exceeds SBD supply

Seems to be a mismatch in the figures somewhere but whatever way you cut it. It's a lot of steem up for sale.
Hopefully more people will have the chance to get some steem.

Ned and the other early adopter whales are still making a huge profit even at these low prices considering they paid virtually nothing for that early ninja mined steem.
Plus they would have been auto selling their steem constantly for almost 3 years. If they had any sense.

I found these figures below which indicates that there is even more steem out there on the markets.

Circulating Supply
308,237,520 STEEM
Total Supply
325,211,614 STEEM

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/steem/

I'm a buyer at $0.10 and below.

·

The actual numbers can be found on the Steem blockchain: https://steemblockexplorer.com

virtual supply 325,302,399.372 STEEM
current supply 292,772,453.479 STEEM
current sbd supply 11,586,602.321 SBD

The virtual supply includes the value of the sbd supply in Steem. Coinmarketcap.com lists the virtual supply as the total supply. I have no clue where they get their circulating supply from.

I have no clue where they get their circulating supply from.

That makes two of us :-)

Interesting that they have remained there as they are only a freeze away to being stuck and unable to move. However, another whale leaving gives us more opportunities to distribute more among a strong community.

So ned is hiding steem by hiding on an exchange, thats either fucking stupid as its not safe or he is a liar and selling and running to his next project.

I think we are near bottom but either way im buying more steem when i can. Poor dumb people selling at lows.

@ned sell/transfers steem 4k accounts created.... connection maybe he selling for running costs?

If you're transferring steem to exchange it doesn't necessarily mean you're selling.

@penguinpablo, thank you for the valuable information. But, there is no guarantee that we are at the bottom.

·

You can only sell if there is a buyer.

Agreed.

Resteemed with pleasure.

It seemed like a good time to buy my Dolphinhood as steem's value declined. My move may have been slightly premature at 8275 btc satoshi per steem, yet as of this writing steem is trading about 1000 btc satoshi below that at 7240 btc shatoshi. It has been as close as 490 satoshi away from my trading cost since last month's trade. We seem to have seen the fall off against btc slowing to a halt. My feeling is that 6500 btc satoshi may be bottom; keeping in mind the limits the steem - btc pairing on the exchange(s). This is not meant as financial advice... just my own experience and observations over the last month or so.

·

What you saying bro? time to get pissed. :)

·
·

LOL. It has been hovering just south of my buy in for a month now. My feeling is that we may have found bottom.

·
·
·

I buy 400 ish a week, not saying you should, I am just having fun with spare cash and do not care if it goes up or down, in true gambler style. if you can not afford to lose it - do not do it. :-)

·
·
·
·

Agreed. My steem was traded with some bitcoin that had been gathering dust in a wallet since 2015. Finally having some fun with a bit of it on this platform. 😎

All good fun bro.

Thanks for keeping an eye on the movement of STEEM and sharing the analytics. I’m still in power up mode

So who wants to give me some steem?

Why doesn't @bittrex use their 28 Millione Steem to become the biggest whale of all time?
