I was looking at buying options on BTC a few hours before the dump. I saw that the expiration was just a few hours away and it seemed too unlikely to expect any significant move in the price of BTC within the 6hours prior to expiration.... UNLESS the phenomenon where the price of BTC drops just prior to the expiration of CME options contracts were do occur, but this wasn't CME options and I wasn't sure if the timing was in sync, so I held off.... This dump came right before those options expired. In summary, someone dumped and made a killing in the options market.
