How does Voting Power affect value of SteemPower in HF20?
So I have been thinking about voting power lately and actually have a question about it.
My understanding of voting power is that it regenerates at 2% per 2.4h or in a way that we can make 10 full votes each day.
Our vote value is higher when our voting voting power is higher:
Example: a user that has 17000 SP currently can make a vote for $1 with full voting power. At 50% voting power this reduces to $0.5.
If this user would spend 50% of their voting power and then vote 1 full vote for the rest of their days every 2.4h, then they would get to distribute $5 of rewards every day.
If however they would wait until the voting power had generated to 100% and then voted every two hours the amount of rewards they distribute would be maximized and be $10 per day.
Is that correct?
Does this mean that if we vote at lower %ages than 100 of voting power we are wasting value?
Have these dynamics changed with the new RC and mana system at all?

I think that the rate would be pretty constant but i'm not particularly saavy in the math of how steemit works...
I think the answer is no, because at 50% voting power one vote only reduces voting power by 1% vs at 100% voting power a full vote reduces voting power by 2%. Thus we could make twice as many full votes with a steady 50% voting, but they would only be worth 1/2 as much. Thus the amount of rewards we distribute stays constant.
Wow, that's for sure interesting what you say here. I don't think it's 100% right but it is true that voting power reduces less when less strong. Eagerly awaiting the better comment on this one.

You are mixing voting power and voting strength. If u vote at 100% vp and 100% vs then u give 1$ vote. At 50% vp and 100% vs, you give .5$ and still lose 2% vp. At 100% vp and 50% vs, u give .5$ vote and lose 1% vp
No this is not true. A 100% vote with 50% voting power reduces your vp by 1%
100% vote will always deplete 2% voting power.

You lose 2% of your current VP, not 2% of your max, so if you vote was cast at exactly 50% of total VP and you did it at 100% weight, you would lose 2% of your current (1% of your max) and would then have 49% VP.
You're correct that VP is still reduced at the same rate as in HF19. When you cast a 100% weighted vote, it reduces your VP by 2% of your current VP. Therefore, your vote of 100% weight at 50% VP would be worth $0.50 and would only take 1% (of 100) of your VP. So you would be at 49% VP after the vote.
In other words, if you start from 50%VP and cast 100% weight votes, you can give twice as many votes that are worth half as much as if you had started casting them at 100% VP.
Does that make sense?

HF20 gives very bad update in steemit. It's gives very low RCs for low SP user. For this reason steemit try to fix this problem and a new update will come us in next weak.. They want to release steem (0.20.6) in next weak. Here the source of this update :

Dear @prince121, yes after a lot of fighting and complaint posts, they realize that this HF20 was not so perfect as many super users write me to stop to whihing, this is normal people win!
That is not quite true. The thing is a 100% reduces your current voting power by 2% so to keep it at your example with the 17000 SP and a voting power of 50% that would mean if you cast 1 vote at 100% your voting power after that vote is 49% (50%-(50%*2%). So basically a full vote at 50% voting power "costs" only 1% which added up will once more be the $10 per day. So as you can see you are able to distribute the same amount each day only the max value and the number of votes changes.

No, still all the same only new name (although I really do not understand the reason why they changed voting power to mana, since voting power gives a better understanding of what it actually is)

very sad to tells you that after Hardfork 20 many peoples leave steemit because of flustration of price and upvote value price of steem is going down day by day and also the new problem is when you have same steem price and same steem power still your upvote value goes up and down so it is impossible for newbie to understand steem HF 20 easily, before HF20 there is lot of profit and easy to earn but not now.
From my understanding, your vote retains its value for the first 10% of Manna. So if you have the 17 000 you could vote at $1, 5 times a day but with each vote, it does reduce the value slightly at the 3rd decimal point but not much to notice.
Once you hit your second 10% Manna bracket begins to reduce much faster
In theory, waiting the 2 or so hours would be better because you're giving that maximum vote but its too small to really notice.
Voting at lower % allows you to sort of max vote more often since the time it takes to restore manna is shorter, so you could in theory vote more times at 10% or 1% and just keep waiting for that max manna to hit before you vote.
At least thats how I see it
