Release can be seen here: https://github.com/steemit/steem/releases/tag/v0.19.0

( Screencap from the STEEM github showing the fresh Official HF19 Release! )

Turns out my earlier intel was spot on and we will in fact be seeing hardfork 19 roll out next week! I've copied the release notes from the github to share below:

Steem Equality 0.19.0 Release Notes

The hardfork is schedule for Tue, 20 June 2017 15:00:00 UTC (11:00:00 EDT)

All witnesses should update to 0.19.0

Reindexing

0.19.0 requires reindexing from all previous versions.

Overview

This Hardfork is about changing the rewards curve to be stake proportional. The original proposal can be read on steemit.com.

Linear Rewards

With the introduction of a linear reward curve everyone will have a say directly proportional to their stake. #1051

Square Root Curation Rewards Curve

This is to offset the changes in rewards due to the linear reward curve. Curation rewards should stay roughly where they are.

Increase Vote Impact

Each vote's impact has been increased by 4x.

Witness Price Feeds Properly Expires

Fixed a bug that prevented price feeds from expiring.

Historical Posts Cannot Be Deleted

Once a post has existed for 7 days, it can no longer be deleted.

Cancelling a Steem Power Delegation Fixed

Fixed a bug that prevented cancelling a delegation in some circumstances

Deleting Post Condition Part of Consensus

Previously, requiring a post had 0 rshares before deletion was enforced via a soft fork. Now it is part of consensus

account_create_operation Fixed

There was a bug in the account_create_operation. Our short term fix was to temporarily disable the operation. It has been fixed and is re-enabled.

Fixed 0 Delegation Objects

Previously, creating an account with 100% STEEM would create a 0 delegation object. This has been fixed.

Optimized Full Node Reindex

Addressed several changes to increase full node reindex speed.

New Follow Plugin Option

When starting the follow plugin you can specify an epoch time to start calculating user feeds --follow-start-feeds. Default is 0 to always calculate feeds.

Increased p2p Stability

Fixed an issue that was causing instability in the p2p network when live and when syncing.

Disable get_block at Runtime

With --disable-get-block you can disable get_block and get_block_header in the database API at runtime.

KLYE's Thoughts

I oppose nothing in the proposed software upgrade above and will be supporting it! It is noted however there is a chance of reward pool / payout anomalies possibly occurring similar to the ones that manifested themselves after HF18. It's impossible to tell at this point what exactly will happen when we flip over to STEEM version 19, such is the nature of groundbreaking experimental software. Looking forward to trying the new reward curve out as well as seeing our voting power being significantly increased.

Have a great day or evening and I'll see you again soon here on STEEM.

VOTE @KLYE FOR WITNESS

I think steem is a potential market which provide a lots of chance for people to post and get money. Howeve, there is a concern that with more and more people using steem , the steem will expand, which may cause the massive devaluation...

define "the steem will expand" steem has the same scheduled inflation no matter the usage.

"Each vote's impact has been increased by 4x." Does that mean we get more curation rewards or do the post get more $ when someone upvotes?

That means you can vote 4 times harder than you do now I believe!

So yeah, when someone votes you now is only 1/4 of what their vote will be after HF19. :D

Ah nice :) But where does the bonus steem come from? Is the intresst on SP lower after HF19, or will the voting power go down x4 faster too? hmm

It would most likely go down 4x faster. So we would get only 10 of those 100% votes a day . Each 100% vote will be 2% of your power. Right now each is only 0.5 %

Ok nice! Good for people who can't vote 40 times a day :) And the full time users simply have to manage their upvote % a bit more..

good point. I just worry the whales, certain ones at least, will just use that to upvote them selves more and worry about comments and minnows less.

Yea that could be a thing. However, other whales could just support good posts even more...

I hope the fork won't split "poor and rich" even more, so that trending posts get full upvotes and smaller ones from new users are left behind...

thats exactly what i worry about. That would hurt the growth aspect of steemit. Based on some comments by whales and dolphins i see this happening. The rich get richer as they say.

Others have raised this concern as well

I've read about others writing the same thing. I'm wondering if something is stopping us from making it impossible to vote on yourself, stopping the possibility to earn by voting on yourself.

Maybe even make a self-vote go back to the rewards pool, instead of to the user again?

Exactly.

Imagine having a gate and before it was only 1/4 open when you hit the vote button. Now at 100% it's actually open 100%. There shouldn't be extra STEEM created per say as the reward curve has been modifed / flattened as far as I know.

I'm not much of a economist nor is the exact math known to me at this time of what's been tweaked but I don't believe a tweak bringing higher inflation would be offered or accepted by majority.

the amount of steem is just divided up per post by how much voting weight it has attached i believe. So this wont change anything but may divide up who gets more differently depending on how much power people put into the votes.

Makes as much if not more sense than my current understanding.

I don't believe we'll see an increase in inflation rates. In fact I believe we'll slowly see a decrease in inflation rates on the network.

if i understand correctly the inflation rate is not attached to the amount of votes but the current amount of steem. So say for exmample somehow only one post recieved all of the votes for that day.. they would get 100% of the inflation for that day. If you noticed weekday posts get a higher value.. i studied this and it makes sense. Less posts during the week means more value to each vote and post.

You are correct. There are a number of variables in play to determine vote worth but what we learned from the whale no vote experiment recently is that minnow votes are worth far more if the big guys don't divvy up huge chunks of the reward pool.

I'm interested to see what my votes are worth after HF19.. I might finally be able to tip people a coffee. :D

But we would get only 10 of those 100% votes a day correct? Each 100% vote will be 2% of your power.

I believe you are correct but don't quote me on that one.. Although something tells me that is how it will work.. Or something similar. :)

Will that really make a difference? Since all votes will be multiplied by 4 and the reward pool doesn't change won't it have pretty much the same exact effect?

Depends on how active the voting / split of the rewards is would be my guess.

Just gave you a witness vote!

Thank you kindly!

Did you "oops forgot to decline payouts" again?

? Not sure if you're trying to be a dickhead or make fun of my forgetfulness.. :D

edit: For the record I'll just get a whale god to nuke that testing post if you're so upset about me making $30 for staying up all night coding. <3

Maybe you wouldn't be so forgetful if you slept every once in a while.

I sleep when I'm tired.. More likely culprit is the marijuana and staring at a computer screen for hours at a time.

What's your thoughts on the changes in HF19?

Take er easy acidyo, have a gooder man.

haha. He deserves that little change anyways

Historical posts cannot be deleted.... Can they be deleted now? I thought this rule already stood.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Hopefully it will work out for the minnows and whales wont only vote on themselves. Thanks for the post. keep up the good work

I think minnows will benefit the most from this to be honest. Whales that do partake in malicious self up-voting normally get pretty stomped on from what I have seen in the past.

For me, though i am not even a dolphin, think its good etiquette to upvote every comment on your posts. I upvote very few of my own. But i notice some of the whales, dolphins who may upvote one or two of the comments but upvote everything they do. I am starting to disengage with these people. Becuase if you think about it this community is nothing without supporting each other.

I am hoping your are right. It will be nice to have more power to influence good posts as well. Thanks for taking the time to keep us updated and give me your opinion as well. :) namaste

I always try to reply on comments. On some posts I literally just upvote everything... The key ingredient is interaction though you are right.

you are very good about it. It is about the interaction. But just showing support can mean a lot.

Thank you @klye good work.greets

Cheers germanlifestyle

This is going to be YUGE!
