Good question. Each SMT is going to have its own reason for buying it, so it’s hard to give a one size fits all answer!

Imagine that DTube releases their SMT and having DT tokens would allow you to upvote posts on the DTube platform for varying amounts depending on the size of your DT stake (pretty much the STEEM POWER model but applied in a niche, DTube community)..

Or imagine that something like Steem Monsters releases SM token and it could have a wide range of use cases: as a betting token on games, used for a discounted way to buy packs, stake it for random card payouts... you can see that the possible use cases are in the hands of the devs!! The possibilities are truly endless!
