Let's get Steem a USD pair on Bittrex!
Steem currently has no fiat pairs on US based exchanges.
However, that may all be about to change with your help!
Bittrex recently put out a post asking what coin the community would like to see have a USD trading pair on the Bittrex exchange.

As you can see many steem and steemit users are already commenting how badly they want to see steem listed with a USD pair.
I don't really need to get into how important it could be for steem to get USD pairs for US customers...
In one word: "YUGE"
If you have ever tried to help a family member or friend get USD into or out of steemit/steem you likely understand why this is such a big deal.
It is a complete headache for new users!
What you need to do!
What we need from you is very simple:

*Additionally some Steemit,Inc members may be able to go this route to help get steem a fiat pair on Bittrex:

Steem currently has one of the largest communities in all of crypto, if we band together there is no reason we shouldn't be able to get steem listed on Bittrex with a USD pair!

Pardon my ignorance, but how would this change the current landscape? A currency having a fiat pair doesn't necessarily de-couple it from BTC's pull on the market. We clearly saw this in 2018 as everything took a dive regardless of what they were paired to.
I'm all for additional exposure and on ramps, I'm just not sure how big of a difference it makes in the long run. Clarification on this matter would be greatly appreciated!

By definition, don't you think "additional exposure and on ramps" will help steem climb up the ranks on coinmarketcap?
Also, every coin won't be tied to the movements of bitcoin forever. The more on/off ramps for steem the better.
Possibly, but not necessarily. Last year, traders salivated over the possibility of their coins being listed on Coinbase. Now we see that has very little effect on the immediate market cap.
I guess it all depends on the environment and psychology of the market at the time.
The largest impact would likely come from a frictionless on ramp where users could easily convert their fiat currency and immediately use it on the Steem block chain. This may just be one small step in the right direction.

The argument was not whether this would have the "largest impact" to the price or not, the argument is that it would be better to have this than to not have it.
Agreed. It would be better than no progress. Just not sure if it would be as "yuge" as people think, which I believe was the argument you were making.

Perhaps not, though the YUGE statement was in reference to Steem getting USD pairs in general, which I still mostly agree with.
Having the option to purchase Steem right off the steemit.com website via credit card or bank account would be ideal.

You can't decouple any coin from BTC atm because it's too big but you can lift Steem up from the current rank of 51 and bring in more ppl.

Yes, exactly.
I think they should give all top 50 coins a USD pair. I am really sick and super tired of Bitcoin moving up or down all the other coins.
That would certainly help things. We would need more exchanges to do this as well though. In steem's case, doing this would like help it move up the ranks on coinmarketcap as it has one of the most widely used apps in all of crypto in steemit.com.

Yep, exactly. If there is ever a time when on-boarding takes off again for steemit.com etc, there needs to be easily accessible fiat on/off ramps.
