Do you know about Oracle-D's new API That Helps DApps To Onboard Users on Steem?
Yesterday I made a blog about Steem's major problems and how @steemonboarding (Founded by @Anomadsoul & @Coruscate) solves all of them. A few hours ago, @oracle-d has launched their new API that can help smaller yet valuable DApps to launch their own signup process. Amazing, isn't it?

Resource credit system has resolved the problem to lengthy sign-up process that used to take days. But it comes with a cost. Any individual or DApp can claim accounts if they have enough Steem Power i.e. Resource Credits.
This means, only the Steem Accounts which huge delegations or SP can afford to claim accounts. @Oracle-D is one such account which has one of the biggest delegations on the platform due to the amazing work they have been doing since its inception by @starkerz and @anarcotech.
Coming back to the business, there is a 2 step registration process by which any worthy DApp can get access to their API:
- Please register your DApp for the v1 of OD's account creation API by filling out this simple form: https://api.oracle-d.com/v1
- Once you submit your details, our internal team will vet the application and get in touch with you to provide access and further setup.
This API is not for personal use. Only DApps with not enough SP, which proves to be a great gateway between STEEM and the outside world should apply.

Team @Oracle-D has collaborated with @Share2Steem (Founded by @algo.coder and @sebbbl) as the first DApp which will use the API. I am looking forward to their announcement of the signup process using OD's smart API. Good News: They have started working on it and it will be out very soon. For those who do not know, @Share2Steem is a gateway application between social media websites (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Twitch, Medium etc.) and STEEM. You can easily cross post by linking your social accounts on the website: https://www.share2steem.com
Please Note: No fraudulent applications are accepted and they have to ensure full security to the sign up process to avoid any kind of abuse.
Personally I am very excited about this announcement:
- Rather than taking the whole piece of pie, team @oracle-d is allowing other DApps/Projects to work with them in collaboration to reach Steem to the masses.
- If enough DApps enable this API, let's just say 5 in total and start onboarding users, you can imagine how many eyeballs we are going to reach.
Note: @adollaraday has been added as 5% beneficiary in this blog using @steempeak.
Great initiative. However, this is not solving the whole problem of onboarding currently. I think @oracle-d should have concession for individuals too. I have about 5 persons in my locality that wants to onboard Steemit, but my resource credit cannot do that. What do I do in that case?
That's a valid concern @uyobong. @Oracle-D cannot enable this for individuals because that could go wrong and some bad actors might abuse the privilege. But there is a solution to your problem. You can use @Steemhunt's sign up process as of now - https://steemhunt.com/sign-up
I made @hungrypb using the same service. It's amazing and you can get your account in a few minutes. Moreover, once OD enables enough DApps to create their own sign up process, individuals can use that as well. Please keep a tab on @share2steem's announcement once they are ready with their own sign up facility using the API.
You can also use @anonsteem and @blocktrades by paying a small sum in STEEM. Both of the services are equally great.

Thanks for the prompt response. I am aware of @blocktrades, only that I refuse to let go my STEEMs this season. AM preparing for SMT release, incase amount of STEEM held becomes a factor. Thanks, I'll try out the Steemhunt option.
